Located in Llaneilian on the coast of the beautiful of Isle of Anglesey, Bod Hyfryd (“lovely dwelling”) has a fascinating history….a former Captains House, it was built for Captain Ishmael Williams in 1874; He was the master of a locally made 3 masted schooner called “The Gaelic”, which regularly sailed from Amlwch Port. Located in Llaneilian on the coast of the beautiful of Isle of Anglesey, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Bod Hyfryd (“Beautiful dwelling”) is a house with a fascinating history….a former Captains House, it was built for Captain Ishmael Williams in 1874; He was the master of a locally made 3 masted schooner called “The Gaelic”, which regularly sailed from Amlwch Port to South America and beyond. Today it is our home and has been lovingly restored, but still retains a lot of the original features, including roof timbers reclaimed from old ships. You will find a warm welcome from your hosts Julie and Pete, and the promise of total relaxation and peace and quiet, due to our rustic location. If you like waking up to nothing more than the sound of birdsong, or gazing at the stars whilst enjoying a drink in our lovely garden (Anglesey has Dark Skies status), whilst Owls fly overhead…then Bod Hyfryd is the place for you!

What an amazing stay here. Such a lovely comfortable place, and lovely welcoming hosts. The accommodation was so cosy. And the breakfast to die for! Highly recommend, and can’t wait to go back
Peter and Julie were wonderful hosts, in a lovely location, making us feel very much at home. They were extremely helpful when we needed help, but we barely knew they were there when we didn’t. We’ll be back again when the weather is better to take advantage of the lovely garden and hot tub. Order breakfast - it’s well worth it.
Would highly recommend this lovely B & B. Exceptional hosts, warm welcome, spotlessly clean, comfy beds & pillows and the best breakfasts ever. A great find!
Such a warm welcome from Peter and Julie who did everything they could to make our stay special. The rooms were beautifully presented, clean and with towels, gowns, toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities. The highlight was use of the wood fired hot tub one evening which was just heaven and highly recommended. We were also treated to Julie’s amazing breakfast selection which set us up nicely each morning. Definitely hope to return one day to explore more of Anglesey.
Gorgeous property, with spacious rooms and access to Anglesey. very peaceful and quiet. Almwch Cove has more to offer than you would first think and there are many walks around the surrounding countryside. Beaumaris is only a 20 mi ute drive away too. highly recommended for a relaxing break.

Situated in lovely Llaneilian, we are very much a coastal location, being only 5 minutes walk to the coastal path. Amlwch Port is a 15 minute walk away (local pubs, café etc) and the famous Copper workings at Parys Mountain are 5 minutes by car. If you want a beach/swimming location, Llanielian Cove our local beach is 5 minutes by car, and has fantastic clear water, and sheltered location for kayaking, SUP paddle boarding etc.
Amlwch Port 15 minutes walk. Nearest local bus stop is 10 minutes walk, or a local taxi will take you into Amlwch and more bus links for around £5. Bicycles can be safely stored under our gazebo.

We are living the dream on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, running our little boutique Airbnb, with our two cats Mimi and Clio. Peter spent most of his career in the textile business travelling the globe, and Julie ran conferences and events at director level for the NHS. We are passionate foodies and Peter plays drums in a local classic rock covers band. We look forward to meeting you!!
