Loin du tumulte loin des ennuis on est bien dans cette cabane sous la colline dorothea ! Le vent fouette les tôles de la cabane, on est au chaud près du poêle avec une vue à 360 sans obstacle Vraiment dépaysant et pittoresque! Gérer l’eau, le groupe électrogène, le feu, la batterie pour le wifi 😎tellement différent de notre confort européen. Un vrai coup de cœur.

My family, with two young children, enjoyed a really fun 5 day stay at Lorenas cabin. We loved the space, the peace and quiet and the lovely views of cerro doretea. It is probably fair to note that the house is pretty rustic with electricity from a generator, water from buckets and heat/cooking using firewood. For us this was great as it made us feel like we were experiencing a more traditional and authentic version of Patagonia. However, it may not suit everybody. Lorena was really kind and helpful. Her son shared his toys with our son and we felt very welcome and happy to stay with such a nice family. The property is fairly priced and well located if you have your own transport. As such, we would recommend the property to any travellers with a sense of adventure and realistic expectations.

First of all: We enjoyed our stay in the cabana Dorotea very much: The house is very spacy, full of light and sunshine with an overwhelming view on the fantastic landscape reaching from the distant fjord at Puerto Natales to the snow-covered mountains of the cordilleras. If you are interested to stay there, you should be aware of these aspects: - All water available on the spot is rainwater, collected in a big water barrel. - If you want hot water, heat it on the stove in the kitchen !!! It's crucial to be able to light a fire in the stove and in the fireplace in the big living room (and to keep them burning) !!! Electricity is supplied by a diesel generator (for 3-4 hours for each tank filling) For us it was a great experience, that brought us closer to an understanding of how so many people on this planet can live their lives with 30% of the environmental footprint (although they drive in their big pick-ups - very fast normally) compared to the footprint which we generate in Central-Europe. So, if that matches your expectations, get a reservation soon: Lorena is a really nice person offering any help you need. If you have doubts: Go for a short stay of about 2 days - I bet that many of you will try to extend your stopover at cabana Dorotea!
