Tybee Island was fun, but this was our most disappointing AirBNB stay yet. 2.5 stars. The property was poorly maintained, listing details were misleading , and several elements were not functioning properly or were potentially hazardous. Marketed as a 4 Bedroom “cottage” – we knew going in that the vibe be cozy, eclectic, and maybe a little "vintage" feeling. However there is a difference between being "historic" and a place that is haphazardly furnished and falling apart. The so-called 4th "bedroom" was a cramped laundry room / hallway area with no doors for privacy, forcing older relatives to climb stairs for upstairs accommodation when they needed to sleep on the main floor . All 3 bathrooms had non-functioning doorknobs, making using the toilet stressful for all. The kitchen sink handle repeatedly fell off. Dim lighting throughout could have been addressed w/ LED Bulbs. Unsturdy chairs and rusty furniture posed safety risks, esp. for elders and kids. Pros: Dog friendly, pool.

We had to stay at this location due to burst pipes at the one we booked. This location was smaller more outdated and had less amenities so it was not what we were expecting when we planned the trip.

Positives: Quiet Location Cons: Once confirmed on Airbnb, got multiple calls from their vacation rental business requesting I call them back to see if I was a good fit for this rental. They sent multiple texts requesting my email address and shortly after receiving it began flooding my inbox with promotions. seems like they are just using Airbnb to lure people in for direct business. The house sleeps more than 8, we stayed for 6 nights and they only gave us laundry soap for one load. Limited amount of dishwasher pods but we were expected to have all of the dishes cleaned when we checked out. The check in guide book stated that there would be a welcome surprise- we didn't get it. Also there was two different coffee machines, drip and keurig, but no coffee offered. The house has a pool but no pool towels offered to guests. Pool heater didn't work until last day. Rusty furniture, not safe for children. You need use your entire body to open the front door, prepare for bruises.

Nice place, the hot tub still doesn't work. You have to cross the highway to get to the beach. The rest is great.

House is gorgeous. We paid to have the pool heated. When we arrived the pool temperature was 65. We called in our concern upon arrival and someone texted us back at 2:45 pm the next day asking if a service person arrived. The rental firm should track if a service person arrived. A service person did not arrive. The office opened at 8 am that day. We will not rent from this rental agency again.
