We had a great time at Charu's cottage. It was exactly as described: three proper bedrooms, a well-functioning kitchen, and everything that worked. A balcony is attached to the first-floor bedroom, from which you can see the valley and the snow-clad mountains. Charu's caretaker, Manoj, is a Godsend. He is a great cook and very responsive to anything you need. I taught him how to make chicken biryani, which future guests can try! His Kumaoni food is amazing! Our only issue with the place was the access road to it. We were traveling in a sedan, and the access road (cement) from the main road was quite steep, narrow, and in bad condition. While going down is slightly easier, going up could be a challenge for people (enough to reduce how much you want to get out). However, if you can get over this challenge, the cottage is absolutely perfect! We had our 6-month-old dog with us, and she enjoyed every bit of it!

Belle Vue Chalet makes for an amazing stay. Charu has done up the cottage well; feels almost like home. She has thought of every small thing to make the stay comfortable. Bishan Da's cooking is awesome. He and his son Vishal took good care of us. The weather and the surroundings are just too good. On a sunny day, the Himalayan peaks are visible from the cottage. The only sore point being the 4-5 sharp turns to reach the cottage. Not possible to walk up/down to the hair pin bend without a vehicle. You need a really good driver to maneuver these tricky turns.

We really enjoyed staying in this beautiful cottage. We felt as if we were staying in our home. It was so cozy, comfortable and clean. Loved the the garden. The host has an eye for detail, you name it and it was available. Would truly recommend this property.

This place of Charu's was a Christmas gift for us. We went around 24th Dec and were welcomed by Bishen Da, the caretaker and Sanjay, the cook in the beautiful scenic cosy chalet, the prettiest one we have seen till now. We woke up to see the mountains and it felt like heaven. The house was well heated and very well organised and aesthetically decorated. We had a great time there. Both the caretaker and cook were very warm and also gave us tips to travel. Charu the host too gave us a lot of tips for travel and stay. On the way to Majkhali, we visited Bhimtal and did boating there. Great to see sunset and sunrise at the chalet. We saw the charbatia apple gardens, trekked the jungle to bhulla dam as recommended by our host. We also saw Jhula Devi temple an amazing one, Haidakhanda temple too. The visit to 800 year old Katatarmal sun temple was amazing. Thanks Charu for recommending this temple. We also lit a bonfire with barbaqueue for Christmas and had a good time. The chalet has a nice kitchen and board games too. Yak Yeti cafe, the cafe and coffee seller, Pathak bakery are nice places to eat. We had a great time and this place is the perfect destination for a tete a tete with the mountains and nature. Thanks Charu, Bishan Da and Sanjay for a great time!
