Beautiful and spacious cottage located on the bank of canal de Somme. Host is very nice gentleman, met as at check in. Very well equipped, lovely wooden beam lounge and pellet urning stove. Location is great to visit WWI memorials - all Somme sites are with an hour drive. Nice restaurant across the road. But apart from that there is not so much in the surrounding rural area, good if you want just some quit time. Though the property has all amenities, note that it does not include any consumables : you need to bring all soap, dishwasher tablets, coffee filters, etc., with you, as well as tea, coffee, salt and so on. WiFi was very weak. We could get low signal in one corner in the corridor. I did not mind as it was good to disconnect, but if you plan to work from this property you need to discuss with the owner.

This is a beautiful property in a stunning location. The gite has been carefully developed for visitors and has everything you could need, with lots of space and a bathroom for each bedroom. It was very clean and tidy and is obviously very well looked after. You can explore the Somme canal and the river Somme directly from the property, with a useful folder of walks provided by the host. There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby and this was a great place to stay for a relaxing break.

We had a lovely week here and it’s in a beautiful location. Lots of places to walk from and in a great location if you have an interest in the WW1 battle sites. It’s also a very well equipped Gite.
