My entire family wanted a weekend away to celebrate joint 60th birthdays. There was plenty room for 8 adults and 6 kids 0-5ys. The dining table meant we could all eat together and there were 2 cots provided as well, which was brilliant. Mostly the house was fairly clean, but one of en suites was quite unclean inside the toilet and in the shower. The people staying in that room mostly used one of the other showers. The bedding and towels were all clean and fresh. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for my 82 year old grandma. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked for everyone with ease. We didn't use the games room but did use the pool. It could do with a clean but it was usable and the kids had a blast in there. The timetable given on arrival was great. This meant that we had exclusive use of the pool twice per day. The grounds were lovely and the children enjoyed watching the rabbits, hunting for worms and playing pooh sticks on the bridge. Me and my friends had a lovely, warm and cosy stay at the Lower Gill Farmhouse. Its in a beautiful location with public walkways nearby. Access to the facilities on site (swimming pool, table tennis, darts and table football) were accessed on a set timetable and were great fun. Missing a couple a basics like washing up liquid, but didn’t impact our weekend.

Looks like an amazing place in the photos. However, this is not an individual host, its run by a company that only respond when they are asking for payment. i sent 15 messages that remain unanswered. The house and the pool are tired and require maintenance. The heating you can not adjust and has no instructions to even attempt to either increase or decrease the heat inside. The house is in a very isolated area, which is great but has no welcome essentials, such as a pint of milk, and with such a late check-in, this can be problematic. also be aware that the checkout is very early and guests are expected to strip and bag all linen, and was all dishes prior to check out, these cannot be left in a dishwasher. this is not explained in the listing, and you are provided conflicting information about checkout timings. The text message confirmation was 10 am, where as inside the house confirmed 9.30 am. The property is pet friendly, but the garden is not secure. not value for money 😕

Visited Lower Gill Farmhouse as part of my mum's 70th Birthday celebrations. 12 of us ranging in age from 5 to 75! All rooms were a great size, was excellent having 3 en-suite rooms along with a very large main bathroom and a downstairs toilet. The Kitchen was lovely, everything we needed and more - might have been nice to have tea/coffee and a little milk left for when we arrived after a long drive but luckily our tesco delivery arrived early so this wasn't too much of a problem. The living room had 3 good size sofas so we could all relax in front of the log burner. We made full use of the pool, games room, football pitch and tennis courts - a great addition especially for the kids and 4 hours allocation each day was perfect. Our dogs had a ball too - lots of places for them to run and play. Even in January we managed to spend lots of time outside and the little stream at the back of the cottaqe was wonderful. Great response from our host too, even though she was on holiday herself.

Everything was fab, great for groups. Please remember to bring fairy liquid and washing up tabs as there was limited availability. But overall perfect house for a group 👌
