‘Vistas al Olivar’ is a comfortable, recently renovated home perfectly located to explore Olvera, a major attraction on the ‘Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos.’ Situated on a quiet street in the heart of the Casco Antiguo (old town), our home is just minutes from the Iglesia Parroquial Ermita de los Remedios (church), Castillo Arabe (castle) and main street and the peaceful roof terrace offers sweeping views of the surrounding sierras and olive groves. The house is spacious and airy. There is a large dining room, full kitchen, laundry and bathroom on the ground floor. The main bedroom and a comfortable lounge are on the first floor. There is a roof terrace off the kitchen. The house is not wheelchair accessible or recommended for people with severely restricted mobility. Olvera is an ideal central base for exploring the region. Numerous pretty pueblos blancos, Cadiz, Malaga, Seville, Jerez and both coasts are within driving distance for day trips. Don’t miss the Via Verde which starts in Olvera, Zahara de la Sierra, Grazalema and Ronda. If you enjoy activities, you can hire bikes, kayaks, explore an endless number of hikes, swim and even paraglide! The town and surrounds also offer tremendous value for money, such as tapas from €2, your morning coffee for just over €1 and incredible meat/seafood meals from €8.
We had a great time at Karen & Mikes place. It was clean, fresh and had everything you needed. Wi-Fi is good & fast enough. The Roof terrace captures the sun nicely and we breakfasted there most mornings. Sunned ourselves too. As mentioned the hill was steep. Very! But you can avoid the steep, steep hill and go around to the less steep hill. Driving up it to the house is awesome, my girlfriend described it as sitting in a dentist chair in the car. We dropped bags off, picked bags up & a couple of big shops. Reversing down is a little daunting, but fun. As advised leave your car on one of the terraces, the neighbours system to get each other to move cars is best left to them, we found no issues getting spaces and walking a few minutes to the house. Places nearby The Bamboo bar is a lovely little place with great hosts and friendly atmosphere. The Cafe Nomada does amazing Tapas and is very friendly. The Kebab shop round from the Bamboo is Brilliant & friendly. Olvera is beautiful
Stayed for a month and loved every minute of it. The terrace with gorgeous views was my favorite. Olvera is a white village, built on a mountain top, with nightly orange street lights. Magical, peaceful, restful, just what I needed. Vereda Ancha is where the town hangs out come 5PM and later. Families, people playing deporte de bolas (pétanque, jeu de boules), basketball games, playground with kids, terraces filled with people drinking and eating. Many other villages to visit (Algodonales, Setenil, Ronda, etc). Fabulous olive oil and olives, fish, tapas. Missing it already. Thank you Karen, Mike and Anne-Marie!
House is centrally located in the village up a steep hill, which Olvera is famous for. It’s easy (if you’re healthy) to get anywhere in the village by foot. Splendid rooftop! Karen was super responsive and helpful. Loved our time in Olvera…
The house is situated in the old town in a quiet street. The old town is very peaceful but not ideal for people with limited mobility. The streets are steep and it is not possible to park directly in front of the house. The house does not have wheelchair accessibility.
Driving to Olvera is the most convenient option. A car is also ideal for exploring the surrounds. However, you can reach Olvera by bus from Malaga. Within Olvera, everything can be reached on foot if you are reasonably fit and mobile.
自我介绍
We discovered this corner of Andalucia during a road trip in 2003. 2017 has been an amazing year for us as we have been living in Olvera renovating our home. We have fallen in love even more with the region as we have had the time to explore. We have truly relished exploring the beautifully preserved villages and the endless outdoor activities from stunning walks in the Grazalema national park where we have spotted vultures and ibex to full moon kayaking on the lake in Zahara. We are sure you will enjoy Olvera and the surrounds as much as we do.
