This is a great place to stay with a large group. There are 8 beds, plus a trundle bed in one bedroom and a pull out bed in the couch. There are plenty of dishes for serving many people. There is just one toilet and shower, but they are in separate rooms so we had no troubles there. The water tastes and smells slightly sulfurous but we drank, cook and bathed with it for 2 weeks and had no issues. The pool table is awesome. We came here to observe the northern lights and it is a pretty good location for it. There is a big back field that has a nice view of the sky. While it is far enough outside of Fairbanks to avoid the city lights, the nearby air force base does emit a good bit of light. There are good ski and hike trails in the nearby woods.

The host’s directions were distinct and easy to follow. The check in process is easy too, and the hosts welcomed any questions I had on the app. Unfortunately, a few maintenance issues kept me from staying the whole reservation period. I decided to cancel early because I felt unsafe. On the second day of our stay, in the garage/laundry area, I discovered a leak. There is a sink next to the washer that had a white bucket underneath it. It was full of water and spread onto the floor. The listing indicated nothing about the laundry system doing this. On the third day of the stay, upon washing dishes, we noticed another leak coming from the sink area, with most of the water emerging from the inaccessible owner’s closet and into the garage. Other issues I found were inconsistent contact numbers, rickety furniture, a lack of smoke detectors in the bedrooms and cold sleeping conditions. Perhaps some maintenance and clarity will help prevent these issues from happening again in the future.
