Our family had a great stay. The weather was beautiful, and the backyard really became a retreat. We grilled on the deck, played Badminton in the yard, made smores over the fire, and just relaxed in general. Very tranquil for us and our two daughters. Inside the house there's plenty of space to spread out. I especially liked hanging out in the kitchen. My teenage daughter escaped from us sometimes to read in the living room or on the big table in the dining room. The town is close by. Rather than spending time searching for parking, we biked or walked into town during the day (it was May and the flowers all in bloom). We plan to come back again (maybe to take in the Fall leaves next time).

I don’t normally write negative reviews, but unfortunately have to for this rental. The house itself is charming and large, however, one of the throw blankets stunk horrendously like a dirty dog and was definitely not washed before we arrived. Another one of the blankets had hard pilling throughout like something tacky got stuck in it. The heater didn’t work so we were freezing the entire stay, there was no hot water in the first floor bathroom, a sponge was nowhere to be found in the kitchen for doing dishes so we had to use a wash cloth. Lastly, one of the upstairs beds need to be replaced immediately as it screwed up my younger sister’s back and mine after sleeping in it for a night (I had to share a bed with another sister on my final night to keep myself from crying from the pain). I never feel good writing a negative review, but my entire family had such a horrible. My hope for this review is to help the owner do better for future renters to have a better experience

We had a nice week at this roomy, rustic home a short distance from downtown Saugatuck. The hosts were terrific and very responsive.

Our stay was wonderful. The house is big, accommodated our family, is very comfortable, and roomy. The back deck is large with lots of chairs and two tables, was great for our extended family gathering. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots, pans, bowls, cups, etc, never needed anything else for preparing meals. Two things to be aware of, the house is next to a busy road, there was traffic noise. The upstairs bunkbed is really only usable by children. It is not substantial enough for an adult or two. Overall, it was a good stay.

This was a very special trip back "home" for my family to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday and have my niece's gender reveal party. We had a full house every day, and the size and features of the house made it easy and pleasant to entertain and hang out for hours. The kitchen and patio were in constant use, and their size and amenities (lots of chairs, etc.) worked well for our group. There were also a lot of thoughtful touches that we really appreciated, like the stocked picnic baskets, coffee (lots of coffee), and beach towels. The bedrooms for adults were also very comfortable and had unique styles. The kids' bunk bed room was tiny and kind of warm, but most kids won't mind. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, and will probably be back!
