We had a brilliant time at the Granary - it is such a special place and you can feel how much love and devotion Rachel and her family have invested in every small detail. The bed rooms are spacious and you could easily travel with four adults or two adults with two older children. Our little one loved his “own room” as well ;). The bathrooms are modern and very clean. The kitchen is just perfect, spotlessly clean and very well equipped without being cluttered. The highlight for us was definitely the huge living space which is so cozy while offering so much room especially for small children to run around and play. As a young parent another super positive factor was the stair gate on top of the stairs (there would have been one available for the bottom of the stairs). We had some issues with the hot water supply/heating (due to technical issues completely out of Rachel’s control), but Rachel and her family made extra sure we were still comfortable. Absolute recommendation.
Granary Cottage is a lovely property situation just outside of Alnwick. The cottage was a perfect base for exploring Northumberland and we had a great holiday. As a family of four we found the cottage itself was very spacious, really well maintained and equipped with everything we needed and more (the children especially liked the toys and board games). Rachel is a fantastic host, very friendly and helpful and it was nice to meet her in person on our final day. We're keen to come back and stay again!
We stayed here with our 1 year old daughter for 3 nights and this place was perfect! We had everything we needed for our stay, Rachel was a great host and very welcoming! The house is exactly as described- spacious, with great amenities. Close by to Alnwick and a short drive to nearby locations. would highly recommend this place!!
Lovely cottage, thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Would recommend and definitely stay here again. Rachel was great to deal with and ensured i had everything i needed.

Mum of 3, we live in beautiful Alnwick, Northumberland. I enjoy sewing, swimming and trips out with my husband and children. Our three cottages at Bog Mill are my pride and joy. My dad converted them himself from our old redundant farm buildings in the year 2000. My mum ran them as holiday cottages back then for a number of years before she retired and they became long-term let's. In 2018 I took over the running of the family business and one by one have relaunched each cottage. Starting with the Byre, I felt warmth and cosy comfort was key here, beautiful original features like the arched stone windows make this a true character cottage. The Granary was second to be reborn, space and warmth dominate. An upside down cottage so the whole top floor is perfect for family relaxation and together time. And finally, the Stable cottage, and I've had fun here. This is my dream cottage. Wooden beams galore - and speaking as the person who painted them all from up a 15 foot scaffolding tower I can tell you there are a lot of them! A brand new kitchen with fully integrated appliances and a bespoke island unit. A second floor twin bedroom in the beams and downstairs a luxury modern four poster bed because, why not!??! It is where dreams are born after all. I hope you have a fantastic holiday whichever cottage you choose at Bog Mill and look forward to welcoming you soon.
