Joanne’s stay is an absolute gem. We stayed for a weekend and had a blast. The stay was super clean when we arrived, Joanne showed us around the property giving us some helpful check in/out instructions and things to do. The river was quiet strong so swimming is only for advanced swimmers, given it was a great workout and a fun time. The large property was quiet, secluded and had lots of space for activities and walks. The screened veranda was a hit for meals and an awesome blend of nature and indoors, good relaxation spot. We were lucky and had clear nights every night with a sky full of stars, clearest I’ve ever seen. All in all this Airbnb is definitely for those who want some peace and quiet at a place buried in nature.

Excellent! If you are looking for privacy (away from neighbours), a spacious, clean, bright and well laid out space with a terrific screened in porch and have your own swimming hole, this is the place! Warm and welcoming hosts who are easily available if needed at all. Super convenient location to Haliburton hiking trails, and easy shopping in West Guilford. Highly recommended!

Joanne and Gordon's cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. They're both great hosts and we'd come back anytime (this was already our second time). One particular plus is the internet which has been speedy and reliable so this is a great place to work remotely from while being in nature and enjoying the verandah.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I have been booking this cottage for the last few years (and have another week booked in July!). It never disappoints - clean, well appointed, peaceful, secluded….access to the river is a beautiful private area steps away from cottage. If you want to do day trips there are plenty of nearby hiking trails to explore. In the evenings you can sit in the screened in area and enjoy the night air (without the bugs!), or use the fire pit and star gaze. Thank you again Joanne - already looking forward to our next visit!

Cozy cottage that has it all - sparkling clean, beautiful location, wildlife, and all the comforts of home. This was my 3rd time staying at this cozy cottage and already looking forward to my next visit! Joanne and Gordon are wonderful hosts that have thought of everything. The cottage is always spotless, warm and comfortable. This year there was even more upgrades to this cottage - new floors, new appliances. This cottage and location will provide everything you're looking for in a holiday away - we spent our days hiking (there are nearby trails, and even Algonquin is only an hour away), or down by the river side steps from the cottage, the evenings outside by the fire for star gazing, and even if there is a rainy day you can sit inside the screened enclosure of the cottage to read a book, or watch movies using the high-speed WiFi. You'll see wildlife too in this secluded spot - I saw deer early one morning right outside the kitchen window, wild turkeys and even a Blue Heron down by the water. This is a very special place.
