We never saw our hosts. There was a post it note at the office for us when we arrived. Their smart lock box (or whatever they said they have) consisted of them leaving the door unlocked with the key inside. The cottage was 100% more “rustic” than the impression from the photos. There was an odour, probably from the spongey carpet. The exterior door had gaps under the corners of the door, probably because the floor under the center of the door was the highest point, with the floor sloping down on both sides of the cottage. There was no exhaust fan in in the bathroom, which did not help with the humidity. Our clothes felt dampish, we were there for 3 nights. The beds had a sheet of plywood between the boxspring & mattress, which was not comfortable. There were only 3 permanent light fixtures, everything else was lamps, which led to it being too dark everywhere. I was really looking forward to staying there, from the impression I got from the pictures, but was disappointed.

The cottage was cozy and fairly clean but maintenance is needed. Julie was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time on the island but most likely will look for other accommodations for next time.
