We loved our stay here. It feels remote, but it’s a reasonably short drive to Selfoss, Geysir and Thingvellir. The house is lovely and has a beautiful view, which you can enjoy from the hot tub. If you come in the winter, have a four wheel drive with stuffed tires, because the road was a sheet of ice the whole time we were there.

Our stay at the Viking Lodge was wonderful! Our family had a great holiday. The kitchen was well equipped and the house was as shown on the listing. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to the area!

Our stay at the Viking Lodge was AMAZING! The house was beautiful, well-equipped, and comfortable for our family with kids plus my mom and brother. The VIEW is beautiful view of the lake! The location was quiet with just the sounds of a few birds. Lovely! What we loved most: - Super comfortable beds and linens - Easy access to the Golden Circle + Selfoss - The decor is GORGEOUS and the furniture is very nice/cozy after long days of hiking - The kitchen was perfect and well-stocked with spices, olive oil, etc - It was so quiet, making it easier to sleep in a different time zone - Black-out curtains in the bedrooms were a huge plus - We made use of the hot tub and sauna--both wonderful! - We loved the wildflowers, wild herbs, and berries all around the house Good to know: - The check-in instructions we initially received were outdated. I had to call to get updated instructions. - The washer/dryer needs cleaning - moldy - Be prepared - you won't want to leave! : ) Highly recommend!
