This was a prime location and we enjoyed our stay here. The patio was a great spot to have a drink in the evening. It was extremely easy to walk around Old Town Alexandria. There were a few downsides that were unfortunate to experience, but didn’t detract from the weekend overall. We saw a mouse in one of the bedrooms and areas of the floor were damaged (be careful walking in the kitchen). If you want to sleep in the bedroom closest to the street, you’ll need to bring ear plugs or a noise machine; you can hear every little thing outside. I understand Old Town Alexandria is “old” and “quaint” but I think this place needs a few updates.

My daughter was able to set up her work desk in the quiet back bedroom while I was free to wander Alexandria and DC making use of the very convenient tram and Metro. In the evenings there were lots of good eating places nearby (I loved the Greek food at Cretekou) and in the mornings there was coffee in the cosy kitchen.

I know Alexandria very well, so going into it I knew what to expect regarding location/parking, and the location is key! Know that you have to park on the street. The downside is being on route 1 there’s a lot of loud street noise. Very easy to find and access, and they were very responsive. Great for a short stay. Plenty of space for me and my small dog. Things I wish were improved: couches in living room (not a comfy place to chill), and I had to re-wash a couple dishes before I used them. But I loved the easy breezy checkout process!

Boyd & Tessa were exceptional hosts. We enjoyed every minute in their place. We wanted to go for a picnic and watch the planes land and they found the perfect blanket for us. Just one example of how responsive they were. The place was well stocked with the basics and the beds and linens were clean and very comfortable. We will definitely return.
