Absolutely perfect location & setting for a relaxing getaway break. Quiet/beautiful spot. Leave your phones & gadgets & just relax & enjoy. So much of what is missing in our lives today. A little piece of heaven. Thank you Susan & Neil for sharing with us.

tl:Dr wonderful cabin, with beautiful views and enormous field and great for fearful dogs. 100% recommend and will stay again! Our second stay at Happy on the Hill and just as wonderful as the first. Neil and Susan are wonderful hosts who are not only super responsive but thoughtful and proactive. Even though it rained again for our stay, the veranda makes it so peaceful and relaxing and the views are wonderful! Our dog, who likes to alert us to any strange noises or people, actually relaxes here which is so hard to find. We travel down from London via train which is really easy. plenty of taxis to book from advance and Susan and Neil offer to pick us up too (we walked for first time, which me and the dog enjoyed but my partner less so 😅).

We had a wonderful stay and Neil and Susan were super accommodating and helpful. 10/10. Even though it rained non stop we had a brilliant time. We will be back!!

Perfect for all of us but especially our dog with it's charming enclosed garden and lots of walking straight from the cabin. A truly special building, the collection of self build books show how much time and thought went into it and they were a lovely thing for an architect on holiday to read. I could write an essay on the place's merits but the view of the trees through the rooflights, the cosy log fire and, feeling of being together in a simpler space and the wide open view are particularly memorable. Everything had been thought about and there was nothing that we were wanting. Honestly, faultless.
