Fabulous location! Great views. Walking distance to food and bars. Some of the furnishings were dated.

Great location for kids. With a nice boulevard and no cars between you and the beach, the kids can roam. The location is nice, with empty, or in the case of one side, a defunct building on the other then a lovely Italian restaurant and Gelateri which we really enjoyed. They had live music and good food and were literally two doors down. Then the pub is two doors down in the other direction. No worries with noise though, as I think the pub closes at 11 or so. The house itself is dark, which is a bit of a shame, but it didn't really bother us as we were off exploring the island. Picnic Bay is quite small, but the big long warf was a constant source of entertainment for me due to the fishing, but if you were after a bit more life then Horseshoe Bay had just that little bit more (as did Nelly bay). If you want that quiet getaway where the kids can roam, then Picnic Bay is perfect.
