纽波特 · 整套出租单元 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Downstairs at the B.G.V.
Snow has arrived and "Downstairs at the B.G.V." is a great place to experience it. On the shores of beautiful Lake Memphremagog, this little City is surrounded by all the things you're looking for, scenic drives, walking, hiking, cross-country skiing, breweries, close to Jay Peak, restaurants and more! Come explore, stay & visit family, or friends, or cross the Border for a quick getaway! "Downstairs at the B.G.V." looks forward to welcoming you here! This private apartment Suite on the 1st floor (not the basement) and is self contained. Although it has No Kitchen, it does have a small microwave and small refrigerator. It is located below my other Suite, the "Big Green Victorian - Upstairs..." "Downstairs at the B.G.V." offers a large comfortable living room, complete with Cable, WiFi, and a '60's record player, with a broad of selection of vinyl/albums. The bedroom has a Queen-size bed and attached bath (with linens, towels...). A private screened in porch offers an additional social area (depending on the weather!). Some guests have commented that the bathroom is small. I like to think of it as being compact. It has all you need, porcelain tub/shower, toilet, sink, and a place to put things. This is an old house (1875), with the original bathroom, which was for function; not necessarily for comfort. And that, is part of its charm! As mentioned above, "Downstairs at the B.G.V." has no kitchen and isn't intended to act as one. Things needing a freezer for storage, while here, can be put in my freezer (just ask me). A Gift Certificate to a local breakfast restaurant OR a place for some food after activities... is provided to help make your stay more enjoyable. As for coffee, there are three options available: 1. A coffee maker with Green Mountain Coffee can be placed in the space; 2. If you have pods, a Keurig can be placed; 3. If you like coffee but rather not make it, I can provide you with a carafe of fresh brewed coffee each morning (I get up early and it's not a problem at all). A device for boiling water can also be made available for those who prefer Tea. During the heating months, the temperature in the suite is 68 degrees. With high ceilings, sitting and watching television or reading, etc. may be a bit cool, but there are plenty of lap blankets. But you might want to bring a sweater if you run cold. However, to date no one has commented on the temperature. In the warmer months, there is a portable air conditioner in the living room window (placed generally around the first of June) and a window fan for the bedroom is available.
Looking for the best vacation you’ll ever have- at a price so reasonable you’ll think you stepped back in time? This is your dream getaway. This beautiful Victorian, filled with lovely, sturdy antique furniture, is an absolute gem. The only reason you’ll know you haven’t travelled back in time is the wifi and flat screen TV with tons of channels. Otherwise, Tim will make you feel like royalty, and the whole town is filled with wonderful, hardworking, kind people serving up small town charm and hospitality. Skip Lake George or the Cape. This place is what you’re looking for.
Thank you Tim for everything! We so appreciated your flexibility and being such a gracious and welcoming host! The living area and adjoining bedroom en-suite was perfect. Hope to return next year!
Incredible end to the Ski season staying downstairs at the B.G.V Tim was a great host and I will be back for sure. I would recommend staying here for a trip. Great town.
This was our second time staying with Tim while visiting Jay Peak and it was just as amazing as the first visit. Tim is a wonderful and gracious host and overall a very kind, good hearted person. The kind of host that will make sure you feel right at home. The suite is spacious and comfortable. The neighborhood is walkable with many good restaurants and a beautiful lake with ferry service to Canada only a block away. We look forward to coming back in the summer to explore more of northern Vermont. Would definitely recommend staying with Tim.
Loved our stay at the BGV! Tim was a very attentive host - gave clear check in instructions, provided coffee and gift cards to local restaurants, but the room still felt very private. The house was well taken care of and the room had many neat little features. Right in downtown Newport, walkable to restaurants and the waterfront. Would highly recommend!
Newport itself, sits at the southern end of Lake Memphremagog, an Indian name meaning (and fitting), "beautiful waters." From the "BGV" you're a 5-minute walk to the bike path and lake. Swimming in Newport is limited to Prouty Beach which can be reached by car or bike path. There are several other places to swim in the area as well as hike and bike. Bluffside Farm is easily accessed and covers several areas of outdoor activities.
At the top of the lake is in Magog, PQ (Canada), a charming, French Canadian city, 40 minutes away by car. Along the way, the trip takes you through some of the lovely Eastern Township communities providing a variety of seasonal offerings. A passport is required.
"Downstairs at the BGV" provides off-street parking for guests. Our City is small and has limited public transportation. A car is essential, especially in the winter.
There are many interesting things to see, and do, within a 30 mile drive. Within 10 minutes you can be at Wal-Mart (if you are in need) and with 15 minutes, into Canada.
自我介绍
As an Airbnb Host of 2 listings since 2015, I consider myself eclectic and creative. The house is well maintained but not renovated & 150 y/o - in 2025! Its Vintage - offering a step back in time experience - which I hope you will enjoy! Guests have commented on its sense of comfort and welcome. In sharing with the community, I donate 3% of each reservation to Joshua House Inc, a local non-profit.
