Notre séjour à l’hôtel était parfait! C’est le meilleur rapport qualité prix que nous avons eu pendant nos 10 jours aux Galapagos. Le déjeuner était cuisiné et servi spécialement pour nous à chaque matin, donc rien de réchauffé. Il y avait de l’eau potable disponible en tout temps. La piscine était parfaitement propre et très agréable en fin de journée. La terrasse sur le toit oú était servi les déjeuners était sympatique et offrait une belle vue sur les alentours. Les chambres étaient propres et les lits confortables. C’était une marche d’environ 20min pour le centre-ville, mais cela nous permettait de voir de nouveaux coins de Puerto Ayora a chaque fois que nous descendions vers la ville. Finalement le personnel était très attentionné!

Beautiful hotel with a lovely rooftop view of Puerto Ayora. We were welcomed by lovely staff and they gave us lemonade as we were settling into our room. The pool was a nice touch. The hotel is a little farther from town, but only a 20-25 minute walk, if you don't mind a walk.

We had a great stay at Hotel El Descanso Del Guia! All of the staff were exceptionally gracious, kind and hospitable. They worked very hard to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The complimentary breakfast every morning was from 07:00 to 08:30 and it was delicious! Always fresh fruit, eggs (scrambled or fried based on your preference), some type of bread dish (pancakes, cheese empanadas, fresh breakfast rolls), as well as fresh fruit juice and hot coffee. There was one morning we were leaving very early for an excursion and they even ran out to our taxi to give us all breakfast to-go before we left (we didn't ask for this, but they are all so incredibly thoughtful and did this for us). The room was always sparkling clean whenever we returned from our daily activities, and someone at the reception was always more than happy to call us a taxi in the morning to get to where we were going that day. A taxi into the downtown part of Puerto Ayora only costed $1.50 total and took about 4-5 minutes. We walked into downtown one evening, too! It took about 20-25 minutes walking. The pool at the hotel is very nice as well. There is a jacuzzi, but it costs $5 per person to heat up because it is not economical for the hotel to just keep the jacuzzi heated at all times. Overall, we all really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, especially for the price. Would stay here again!

Hotel El Descanso is a perfectly spacious room with an amazing rain shower (hot water and great water pressure)! There is an adorable rooftop restaurant for breakfast and very inviting pool area with lounge chairs and chair swings. It’s a little further from town than I thought, but they’ll help you call a cab which is only $2 no matter where you go in town. Would absolutely stay here again!
