圣米德尔阿连德 · 整套客房 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Casita de Las Palomas
Away from the noise and pollution of El Centro, yet walking distance to the Jardin. This one bedroom casita has its own private sculpture garden with the soft sounds of the fountain in the koi pond, the rustling of bamboo and the cooing of doves. There will be a few provisions for your welcome such as fruit, flowers, wine, tea, coffee, and a couple of nibbles. Daily maid service provided. Two friendly, loving, dogs live on the property. Award winning private garden with outdoor dining area and lounge chairs for relaxing and socializing.
I spent 2 months in Sharon’s casita. I was greeted by a welcoming, relaxed host and her supportive staff. I had 5x a week maid service and was pampered by Francisca who was warm without being intrusive. She did my laundry on demand for an additional fee.The host, Sharon, became my friend because she was sensitive enough to realize I needed one. The large garden/ private courtyard was an aviary and botanical garden wonder, cared for with love and respect by Sharon and the gardener, Carlos. As an elderly woman traveling alone with a little dog, I felt safe and welcomed. Sharon accompanied me on various outings to very special places. She had just gotten a new puppy and our dogs became great friends. I took a 3 week intensive Spanish program. The patio provided a wonderful place to study. She also welcomed my day visitors. My only difficulty was walking up the steep hills because I became breathless. The altitude and hills were stumbling blocks for me - not for everyone. Taxis helped.
I loved staying in Sharon’s casita. The surrounding garden filled my space with the lovely smell of night blooming jasmine. Charlie and Sheila(the dogs) were so sweet and I often enjoyed their company in the garden. The house is exactly like the pictures and Sharon was delightful to talk with. I would love to stay here again sometime in the near future.
We were not actually able to stay—my husband tested positive to Covid 2 days before departure. However, Sharon contacted us days in advance to find out what kind of coffee we liked, update us on the weather. We are hoping to book again in the future. Sharon is one of those special people who make you feel welcome even before you arrive.
Wow, what a treat! I just returned from a month in SMA posted up in Sharon's lovely casita and I cannot recommend it enough (especially for the solitary traveler or for couples looking to get a taste of life in San Miguel). The home itself is absolutely stunning with a garden that rivals anything you'd find in a magazine, and the interior of the casita is charming, homey, and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom is spacious, the natural light throughout the day is soothing, and the bedroom feels like a place you can actually live in. Sharon is friendly and accommodating — plus her two dogs are adorably affectionate — and her housekeeper is one of the sweetest people I have met in ages. The gardener comes a few times a week to keep the plants happy, but other than that, one can easily tap into a feeling of "getting away" and sink into a rhythm with the ebb and flow of one of Mexico's most beautiful cities. Just remember to pack your walking shoes (and something waterproof if visiting in the rainy summer months) and have small bills (pesos only) on hand for taxi rides home when you aren't feeling the walk at night. There's a lovely café/restaurant just half a block down the street at Casa Goyri that has a comfortable patio, great coffee and breakfast food, top notch service, fast wifi, and which is *very* affordable. This is great for those mornings where you don't want to make anything at home in the (well equipped) kitchen and don't care to walk all the way into town. Nearby there are also a handful of small shops for essentials (fruit, toiletries, snacks, sodas, beer, etc.) and a short walk down the hill on toward the main entry road to SMA yields a plethora of grocery and divine daytime dining options. Depending on the season, the bedroom can get a bit bright (indirect light only) in the morning, so I recommend bringing an eye mask if you are a late sleeper. Similarly, because San Miguel is a city filled with celebrations through most of the year — and Mexico itself can get a bit loud (even here in the hills away from the energy of downtown) —, I recommend packing some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Rest will come easy to those who sink into the cadence of San Miguel — the walking, the dining, the culture, the architecture, the nightlife, the scenery — and as someone who is still glowing from my trip, I can't recommend Sharon's beautiful Casita enough. Happy travels!
A fantastic home away from home in San Miguel. My husband and I stayed a month at Sharon’s lovely place and almost immediately felt settled in. As a guest, you truly have everything you need for a long stay—plenty of towels, pots, pans, glasses... Moreover, her offering of fruit, a bottle of wine, and gorgeous Stargazer lilies was absolutely phenomenal. With housekeeping as well, everything is well-maintained. Add to that Sharon’s generous forwards and suggestions about local happenings, and one is set. Thanks for our stay, Sharon!
The neighborhood is typical Mexico with a mixture of many types of living. Shopping and restaurants within walking distance. San Miguel is famous for its varied gastronomic scene.......from the taco truck to five star restaurants.
There are taxis, Uber and buses. Many day trip tours are available.
