We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Convento das Bernadas. A very tranquil and hushed location not too far from the town. Unfortunately we had to get a later train than expected from Faro to Tavira (very easy, affordable journey) so we were later arriving to the apartment. We received a message to let us know the key was in the key safe at the office so we checked ourselves in. This wasn't a problem whatsoever, however, having stayed at many Airbnb's before we were surprised by the lack of 'welcome'; no welcome basket, no message to ask if everything was ok (especially after the self check in), no guidance about where to take the rubbish when full & very little detail about the surrounding area apart from some history about the town, restaurant recommendations & how to reach the beaches. Although, even the directions for the beach weren't accurate. Following the advice given in the book, the ferry only goes from the town from June - September so we walked to Quatro Aguas (55 minutes door to ferry). On our way back, the ferry staff let us know that the ferry was in fact running from the town which was only a 10 minute walk back to the apartment!! Not a drama for the younger but it was an unexpectedly long walk for those that struggle. There was no WiFi which was massively missed, especially as the phone reception wasn't great in the apartment. Mosquitos were a huge problem, unfortunately there was no citronella candles or anything we could use to keep them at bay so we could take advantage of the beautiful patio in the evenings. All of the bed linen & towels were very freshly laundered & the beds comfy. As I say, we had a lovely time & would definitely consider returning to Convento das Bernadas & Tavira.

O apartamento está localizado num aldeamento, convento das bernardas, em Tavira. O aldeamento é muito giro, ambiente calmo, e ainda que o apartamento esteja um pouco afastado da piscina principal, a ligação é simples. O apartamento está bem equipado e, embora os quartos sejam pequenos, é muito prático e bonito. O atendimento correu muito bem. Próximo de Tavira, do mercado e outros hipermercados.

This is a beautiful place in tavira, right in the centre. The apartment has a private patio that opens up to a beautiful view of the salt water pool and rest of tavira. It's centrally located, 5 minute walk to the mercado ( the fresh fruit, vegetables and seafood market), it's a 7 minute drive to the RIA farmosa which is beautiful and the shopping mall is also 5 mins drive where you can get a lot of gluten free stuff. We had a slight accident with the kettle wire that got burnt and there was a spark and the whole apartments electricity went off , saira and tiago were there in 10 mins and told me not to worry and were very kind not to charge me anything and said it'sok it was an accident and you didn't break anything. Both of them were very helpful through out our trip , and did give us a lot of tips too. I would definitely stay here again , because it adds to the whole tavira experience.

Enjoyed our stay here, surroundings were immaculate, pools awesome and the apartment was fairly large, nice touch with pool towels. However i personally felt the kitchen equipment could be more substantial (especially if there were 4 people staying and i like to still cook on holiday) and the apartment decor etc has not been updated since they were sold in 2014 (same couches etc in the sale pics) so felt like it could do with a bit of a refresh, marks on the walls etc, however still really liked the place.
