Sandra’s flat was a great space and kept clean and tidy. Sandra and her husband were very welcoming when I first arrived. However, I decided to change my stay from 6 months to 2 months due to a few reasons. The first is that the location, Bönningstedt was awkward to live in without a car or bike. Public transport was infrequent, trains arrived every 20 minutes and buses every 30 minutes. It took on average 45 minutes to get anywhere and up to an hour to get downtown. When I gave a month’s notice to leave to Sandra and her husband to leave as specified in the Airbnb contract they were extremely angry which made me feel extremely uncomfortable for the rest of the trip. They asked me if I could move out ASAP if they could get another tenant. Initially I requested to have friends stay at the flat in my first month for 3 days, however, after the incident it seems Sandra was intent on making my stay difficult. The day before my friends arrived, Sandra sent me a text saying that I would only be able to have one guest. As you can imagine this meant that my friends had to find accommodation the day before flying. The second month I also agreed with Sandra to have one guest stay the weekend. This went by with no issues. However, the day before I was to leave, Sandra messaged me that I had to pay €10 per night for the guest. No agreement was made and I was given very short notice again. There are very limited facilities for withdrawing money in the area and I had to find a place to withdraw to give to Sandra. It would have been appropriate had Sandra initially said this and not messaged me the night before my leave. The agreement was that a cleaner would clean the apartment every 2 weeks. However she only turned up twice. Again I believe this is when I reduced the contract down to 2 months the cleaner stopped showing up. Overall, I didn’t enjoy the experience as I wasn’t comfortable for one month out of the two for my stay due to the attitude shift of the hosts. It is truly a shame as the flat was really nice and spacious. I wouldn’t recommend staying here for long term accommodation as the actions of the hosts are unprofessional and disrespectful. As a short term let it is up to an hour away from the centre using public transport so it is not very convenient.

Der Weg in die Eisdiele mit wunderbaren Sorten ist sehr kurz (man wohnt fast darüber) - was im Sommer einfach wunderbar ist. Ansonsten ist alles in einem klaren, nordischen Stil gehalten, was mir sehr gefallen hat. Und die Nähe zu Hamburg ist wirklich klasse (egal ob mit Bahn oder PkW).

Sandra offers a spotlessly clean, modern and inviting space, perfect to make your home for a few days. It is very nicely decorated, with thoughtful touches and a clean, modern style. The natural setting is very pleasing and its super cosy and homely, just perfect to make your own for a while. We felt instantly relaxed and at home. Its very private too and, after a warm welcome, Sandra leaves you to your own devices to enjoy the space as your own. Thoroughly recommend !

A really lovely, clean and sunny apartment with plenty of space for two people. There is off-road parking as well as a washing machine and dryer in the house. The nearest train station (Boenningstedt) Is five minutes walking distance and it takes about 35 minutes to reach downtown Hamburg. There are two supermarkets (LIDL and REWE) within five minutes walk and it is a very quiet area. I enjoyed it so much I have booked it for Christmas! Good value for money.
