自我介绍

We are a family of four who have come to love the sweet spot that is the Toe River Valley outside Burnsville and Spruce Pine in Celo, NC. I (Amelia) am a high school art teacher with ties to the local Quaker community, and Andy is an Architect who renovates historic mills and factories. We have two kids who love mountain biking, art making, cooking and music. They have helped us design the house with kids in mind, though adults always enjoy the games and art supplies as well! We spend time here throughout the year, planting flowers and herbs around the house and updating when we can. We aim to be an inclusive space, and welcome everyone to stay in our home. We can point you to our family's favorite hikes and river access (check the guide!), and hope you'll consider our home as yours while you stay. We love our simple farmhouse, the front porch and yard, the creek, and the trails we are blazing through the woods up the mountain behind our house! We also rent almost a half acre behind the house to a gardening co-op that takes great care to make good use of the land. We love our local neighbors in this sweet community. We hope it suits your needs to get away and relax in the cool NC mountain air. It's not fancy, but it's exactly what we need when we want to relax, enjoy simple living, and take in the incredible beauty around us. Hope you enjoy!
