Despite a few unexpected setbacks, we very much enjoyed our stay at Paradise Canyon. I’ll start with the positives. The location and property are peaceful and private. It was great space for the kids to run around and keep occupied at the pond and in the woods. Tables and chairs were well stocked. The porch on the main home was perfect for the communal gathering spot, and the casita was a functional size. Overall, we felt like it was a fair price for the accommodations. There are however, areas for improvement starting with the main house. Both upstairs showers rapidly leak water from the ceiling into the kitchen. Bathing upstairs does not cause the water leak. The home is older, so be aware that elderly will need to navigate multiple level changes on the main floor (random steps), and the electrical work is spotty. The cabins are TINY, and the lofts fit small children only. We appreciated the opportunity to gather our family on a budget, and Paradise Canyon worked great for that!

Pros: lots of room outside, fenced backyard was great and the back porch having gates was very convenient for our dogs. Lots of space outside for everyone to gather when the weather is nice. Having all the separate sleeping spaces was great too. We had about 14 people staying and we were all able to spread out and have some private space to sleep. Cons: when my husband used the shower in the master bath there was water leaking from the ceiling in the kitchen. The bathroom door in the casita was a strange type of door and was broken and would not close right. The water in 2 of the cabins smelled like sulphur. We were in town for my daughters wedding and the smell was so bad that some of our family had to come inside the house to take showers because they did not want to smell like sulphur for the wedding. That was a huge pain since we could not use the master shower either. All of the propane bottles were empty. I would not stay here again.

We had a great company retreat and eclipse-watching party from the large deck. There was lots of room for each family to feel like they had their own "space". We came together at the main house for meals. The kitchen was perfect with lots of cooking and serving dishes. Seating inside for eating is limited, so if the weather is cold keep that in mind if you have a large group. We had 16 and were all able to find seating inside and out. The entire place was decorated beautifully and we felt very comfortable there.
