A fully renovated charming guesthouse, spread over 2 levels with beautiful old terra cotta tiles throughout. Upstairs is your bedroom with a walk in robe and an ensuite bathroom with a large open rainshower. We provide big towels and to add to your comfort, cosy bathrobes are available on request at no extra cost. Our bed linen is of good quality with a 2x2 duvet and 2 pillows per person. As you venture downstairs, you step into a large, spacious kitchen dining area with an open fire place. The kitchen is fully equipped and offers a new gas cooker, dishwasher and large sink as well as a washing machine. There is crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils as well as napkins and a first provision of olive oil, balsamico, salt (with dried rosmarin) and pepper. Cleaning liquid and tabs for the dishwasher are also available for your convenience. The lovely old oak dining table invites to relax for your meal and or just a drink. Alternatively step outside and find your cosy spot on the lawn where you can have a BBQ while watching sunset. A gas BBQ is provided. Why not finish your day with a drink in front of the open fire place? We welcome you to use the wood, which is sitting outside in the barn. The guesthouse is for your use only and does not get shared with anyone else, however you may see us sitting outside at the back of the house in the evening enjoying dinner and a drink. What we like most about the property is the welcoming ambiance as soon as you make your way through the tree lined drive. You enter through the main gate and start to relax and simply enjoy the scenery, wildlife and nature. Over the years our property has been a safe haven for many different animals from the hunters near by. It is not uncommon to spot a dear or pheasant on the lawn or you catch a glimpse of our barn owl. The property has 3ha of fields and open spacious lawn areas - perfect for a bbq and watching the sunset. We find ourselves spending most of the time outside somewhere on the property or hunting a bargain at a brocante, visiting a chateau or a village near by, that we decided against a TV. Le Haut Monteil invites you to switch off from your day to day and to recharge your batteries, we believe this is the perfect place to do so! If you happen to be here during the season for cherries and walnuts, feel free to help yourself in the garden.
