Camurlim is a quaint and very picturesque village naturally set in a quiet backdrop of paddy fields with the Chapora river flowing steadily along the palm-lined banks. It is surrounded by Colvale on its east while Oxel and Siolim lie on its west. It is located 7 km from Mapusa city and is one of the unique hamlets of North Goa which distinctly varies in the deafening pollution of the city to the very serene and calm atmosphere that one can witness here amidst the natural surroundings of hills and lush green plantation.
The closest beaches are Morjim and little Vagator, located about 30 mins away. Few other places of interest could include The Tree House, Dongormag Chapel, St. Rita of Cassia Church also known as 'Santa Rita de Cassia' in Portuguese, Our Lady of Candelaria Church, ‘Nossa Senhora da Candelaria’ in Portuguese. The village has a few small grocery shops for daily essentials located in walkable proximities. 15 mins of drive and you'd be in Duler and Mapusa city.
The people of the village lead a very simple life. You'd often see them fishing in the morning hours near the river bank and at the backwater. You'd find people smiling and greeting you while you walk by the streets. Konkani, English, Marathi and, Hindi are the languages spoken here.
