We had a lovely stay at The Hickory Bear. The views are gorgeous and it was so quiet and peaceful! The cabin was very clean and Jen was always quick to respond. We hope to return!

The cabin was just as described! It was easy to find and get into the residence. Inside was welcoming with clean furniture and decor. There was more than adequate cooking and eating utensils and linens. We appreciated the extra tvs and the outdoor seating. The view was perfect with beautiful trees, making us feel we were in the woods. It was easy to communicate with the owners, which isn't always the case. Anyone would be delighted with a stay in this adorable cabin. We will definitey come again!

The view of the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains from Christian and Jen's cabin is astonishing. But I'm ahead of myself. We arrived in the middle of the night after a long travel day and hauled our gear inside and fell asleep immediately. It was pitch black outside and completely silent, so it was a wondrous and rejuvenating sleep of the kind I always want and seldom get. I'll just say, in the morning, when I awakened and quietly slipped outside alone and took in the view from the deck, it was moving, inspiring, it filled me with gratitude. My wife and our Son loved the cabin, the town, the shops, the hikes, the train, the waterfalls, the river, the people, the charm, peacefulness and beauty just never stopped. It was a tremendous experience, one we will never forget. I'm so grateful for our time there, my kindest regards.

The location and the drive to this place was simply beautiful. Christian and Jen were responsive and friendly. The cabin itself was very cozy and perfect for us as we spent most of the time grilling (had all the amneties for grilling) and absorbing the breathtaking natural view given on the patio. We will for sure book this one again and is marked as one of our serene escape spot. Definitely recommend this to any couple or a small family of four.

This cabin couldn't be in a better location. The view is perfect. The beds were super comfortable! We wanted a cozy peaceful place to stay and this was the perfect spot! We were able to get down town for some shopping had lunch and tried some local flavor at this cozy little wine bar. We didn't want to leave!!
