Good place for peace loving people

Thank you for letting us stay at the property. The apartment is very comfortable with modern appliances and comfortable furnishings. The location is perfect if you have young kids. it's a short stroll along the beach or road to the local shops at the entrance and of course, the beach is at your doorstep.

The place location was beautiful and everything as described when it came to view. You hear no traffic except the sound of the beach. Unfortunately there is room for plenty of improvement. There is no fly screen on the door or windows, so you can’t open the doors or windows at night to hear the waves. The doors are thick & the wave sound at night is very minimal so you’d have to close the door at 5pm before dark to avoid insects & mosies. The second the doors or windows are open, mosquitoes come rushing in. Upon arrival, there was saw dust & sand all over the floors, along the top of the wardrobes, unpleasant site of dirt in the bathrooms & crumbs all along the kitchen floor. We had to sweep & vacuum upon arrival. No dishwashing detergent, mortene, or toilet paper provided. The bedsheets, pillows & blankets looked and smelt like they hadn’t been washed. The place was unpleasant & dirty. The kitchen & table looked clean & had a neat set up, but when looking at the benches properly, it seemed to have just been “swiped” with a quick clean prior to our arrival. There are also no blinds on the veranda door which means you are exposed to being watched sitting in your living room without being able sit at night time anybody can watch you sitting in your living room from the beach. When reaching for a spare pillow on top of the wardrobe, a bunch of saw dust came out from under the pillow & landed onto me & my bags on the bottom. When looking at it, it was stained with yellow marks. The spare quilt provided also stained with yellow marks. The dryer had sand inside, so when I used it, my washed clothes ended up getting sandy & needed a rewash. The bottom of the queen bed had small black dead roaches behind them. Unpleasant & made me uncomfortable to sleep. If you do decide to book this place, do consider bringing your own bedsheets, pillows, dishwashing liquid, hand soap, mortene, your own amenities. If you are uncomfortable sleeping around dead roaches & insects sitting in the cracks, I suggest not booking this place. The view was phenomenal but we could only enjoy it in the mornings with the doors open & nights outside on the veranda as the doors had to be closed after 5pm due to insects rushing in. If the place was taken care of prior to our arrival, we would have felt comfortable to sleep in the beds provided.

Amazing location right on beach front. Great for sunsets and local access to shops etc. Apartment had everything we required for cooking etc and extras for beach toys for our toddler. Will be staying again

While we did enjoy our time at golden sands unit 1 there are several areas for improvement. Did not get checkin instructions until after our checking time. The instructions we did get were to open key safe B, unfortunately it was empty. We reported this and we’re given a code to check safe C, which had keys. However those keys didn’t work to open the unit. So we reached out again for help. Mick went to the office got the correct keys and brought them to us. He was very nice. Once we got into the unit it was dirty. Crumbs on kitchen counters and construction dust on floor and surfaces. Even dried plaster on top of the white storage unit in queen room. We reported this and poor Mick was sent out the next day to clean. Thanks again Mick. Other things to note, several windows are unlockable because part of latch is rusted off. Bathroom exhaust fan doesn’t work. The construction works on site are not complete. Lots of water leaks in on ocean facing side during easterly rain. The door to the balcony is so corroded it is difficult to operate. Lovely location but terrible check in, took an hour and a half, that’s on East Coast. Poor condition of the unit is on the owner. A disclaimer should be added to the property description that renovation is underway. We’ve stayed in several holiday rentals and this was the worst and it needn’t be. This will be a great stay once works are complete, leaks fixed, and new locks installed on windows and balcony door.
