We mostly enjoyed our stay at the farm house. It snowed during our visit which made the surrounding area beautiful. The house is not fully heated, but each room as its own heater and thermostat which we found nice for our group to control their own room. The hallways are not heated so make sure you bring some warm clothes in the winter. The house is very historic which definitely makes it an interesting stay. We did not use the living room because of the overwhelming smell likely due to the old wood stove, but the dining room was a nice area to hangout in. We did wish the bathrooms and furniture/window seals had been a little bit cleaner. We really appreciated the price for the location 40 minutes away from Snowshoe where we spent each day skiing. Please note that if it snows I would suggest having a 4WD car. We ended up getting stuck on Highway 219. The roads were cleared by 10am. The hosts had phenomenal communication! Overall a pretty good experience.

Great place for larger group. Quiet, private, and had lots of space in the house for 9 people. History of the house also made it a cool experience.

We had the best stay at this old restored farmhouse, its charm, beauty, and cleanness were very welcoming upon arrival! The heaters worked great, especially the wood-burning stove! The house had plenty of room for multiple people and the bedrooms were big and enough for pack n plays. The house also had tons of games and toys for the kiddos, lots of outdoor space, a fire pit outside with plenty of wood (we made a stew over the fire - so yummy!) and the kids had the best time watching the cattle roam the farm. The hosts were awesome with great communication. We travel every year to West Virginia for our annual Christmas tree hunt in the National Forest (you need a permit). This place was exactly the right spot we’ve been on the hunt for, we found our tree in a boulder field this year about 25 minutes away! We can’t wait to come back to Erin’s place!!! I bet this place is super amazing in the summer, we are debating on doing 2 trips next year!! Thank you for having us!!!

Another amazing stay at Maple Hill Farm!!! This has become the favorite place to stay for our large group’s annual trip. This home accommodates large groups quite comfortably. There is plenty of space to spread out and be comfortable and few little nooks for quiet time when needed. Watch for deer on your drive in! We saw no fewer than 35 on drive up Brush County Rd! There was also a herd on the farm that moved around daily. We will be back!!!

This is a beautiful old home with no neighbors, but only a short drive to the town of Marlinton that has anything you might need. It was breezy and cool, even in July heat and humidity. The small galley kitchen keeps the cooking heat out of the rest of the house, and the backyard was an amazing dining room. We enjoyed day trips to Cass Scenic Railroad, Green Bank Observatory, Highland Scenic Highway (don't miss the Falls of Hills Creek), and Lewisburg for a wild cave adventure. We also enjoyed quiet days at the house. Maple Hill Farm is the perfect location for a West Virginia vacation.
