PausaSTAY - Quinta da Maceda is a 200y old traditional Portuguese farmhouse, renovated to the highest standard in 2019/2020. Spacious bedrooms & bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, covered courtyard/Barbeque area, open plan dining kitchens, south facing private garden, with olive & lemon trees, with modern decoration & furniture, High speed mesh WiFi with network dedicated for guests, an attached small batch craft beer brewery, & an Arts Studio with pottery wheels & kiln. PausaSTAY - Quinta da Maceda is a 200y old traditional Portuguese farmhouse, which was renovated to the highest standard in 2019/2020. The property has been designed & constructed to give maximum flexibility, allowing accommodation for between 2 & 10 guests. Exposed original limestone walls, & exposed wood of the floors & rafters, contrasting the cool white modern lines of the walls & fully tiled ground floor, gives the whole property a cosy & clean feel. Woodburners & central heating keep the place toasty in the cooler months. In the warmer months Solar water heating provides domestic hotwater, & a water treatment plant takes the waste water & recycles it for irrigation of the vegetable garden. Original artwork adorns the walls of the whole property, as does the eclectic collections of objects from around the world, collected by the owners over 30 years.

PausaSTAY Quinta da Maceda is located in the small village of Alvorge, about 25mins south of Coimbra.
In the heart of the Sico (Limestone upland) it is an area of stunning sunsets, forgotten tracks through sun dappled olive groves, & secret river pools for cooling off in the heat of the summer.
Within walking distance (5mins) we have three local bars, two mini markets, a bakers, a petrol station, a doctors, & a pharmacy.
The village square hosts a local farmers market every 3rd Sunday, offering local produce & goods.
The fishmonger calls by the house every friday morning, fully stocked with fresh seafood.
Further afield, we have Ansiao, which is a large town offering many bars & restaurants, along with supermarkets & banks.
Coimbra is only 25mins north, with its historical University & medina.
A nature lovers paradise, located just south of Coimbra, Portugals 3rd city, in Central Portugal. Lisbon is 1h50m south & Porto 1h10m to the north. Throughout the year, nature provides a spectacular show, from the stunning winter sunsets in January, abundant wildflowers of spring in March, magical fire flies in June, soaring eagles in July, Cicadas in August, Skop owls in September, the walnuts, the olives & the grapes at harvest time in October & November..........
