The fully equipped laundry room can tackle any creek induced water play dirty clothes. A big feature of the home are all of the double doors leading to deck space. Open all of them and hear the loud creek as you cuddle up with a book or entertain. No HVAC is required here. Laurel Rise is nestled in a micro climate and it often is chilly even in the warmest summer months.- In the summer the heat index never goes very high up here under the canopy of trees, and ceiling fans in every room and open windows circulate air beautifully. In the winter, the heavy duty wood stove can be closed to provide heat to the main space, or open with a covered grill to enjoy the feel of an open fireplace. The bedrooms are equipped with Baseboard heaters which gets everything super toasty. The upstairs bedroom has a walkout deck overlooking dense National Forest and the downstairs bedroom also has double door access to the deck. The bathrooms, too have floor heaters for those chilly winter nights. All of the patios have gates to protect the kiddos or dogs from running astray, and the vintage cast iron tub personally restored by the owner will wash all of the trail away. Enjoy the outdoor eating area that leads directly off of the kitchen and let the kiddos explore the woods within the fence lines for endless hours of fun. Light up the Tikki Torches and start up the firepit for smores and drinks into the night as the kids drift off to sleep. One of the nice things about the house is that you can see the house from the firepit area, so rest assured the kiddos will be always within sight. Please note, there is NO Central heating and air conditioning. In the winter, it is advised that you know how to work a powerful wood stove and keep it roaring 24/7. We have space heaters but on very cold winter days, they won't be enough. Lauren Rise is waiting for you....What are you waiting for?
We had a wonderful time. The cabin is as described but the photos don't do the beautiful surroundings justice. The creek is gorgeous and sitting out in the hammock by the creek with a fire going was a perfect place to read and relax. We would definitely come back. As noted in the listing, we didn't have cell service but there was good wifi, and we have good wifi calling, so we had everything we needed. Kitchen has pretty much everything you will need, we always bring our own sharp knife as this is one thing that tends to be missing and I am glad we did. Tons of great hikes within an hour drive. Our GPS took us to the wrong spot up a VERY steep road. Was one road away, but easy to find once we figure that out. The road to the cabin is very narrow but only passed another vehicle once. Hosts were responsive with any issues. Overall, very well worth what we paid and would highly recommend staying here, especially if you are comfortable with life in the woods/mountains
The place was great, the kitchen was a little smaller than expected but very manageable for our 8 guests who came up. The creek was so beautiful and we had fun exploring it. There’s a lot of spices and such that are already at the home which were so helpful for us to cook. Overall we loved it and would definitely come back to this house as the location was a perfect, peaceful getaway.
We really enjoyed our short family and pooch stay at the cabin! The creek and wooded fire pit were our favorite spots. There were lots of options nearby for hiking. The gated porch was perfect for our dogs. We used all amenities except the washer and dryer. The house was well stocked with what we needed, and very cozy! I recommend and would come back for a repeat visit!
The perfect getaway. We felt right at home at the cabin. The property was beyond gorgeous and we had everything we needed here so we didn’t leave very much except to hike. Peaceful mornings listening to the creek and the birds. We didn’t want to leave this little piece of Heaven. 12/10 would recommend. Next time we would love to stay for longer.
You'll be surrounded by nature- This cabin is tucked away against a mountainside and is surrounded by National Forest. Walk out of one of the many doors to forge your own path, or head to Bartum trail, only 5 minutes down the road. There are only two cabins past this one, and you'll rarely hear anyone passing by.
Franklin is 20 minutes away, with a quaint downtown and lots of good eateries, including two micro breweries. Highland and Cashiers are a 40-minute drive. Tallulah Falls, Black Rock Mountain, Smokey Mountain Visitors Center and famous Asheville are all within a hours drive. Dozens of beautiful waterfall trails are within twenty minutes, with the famous Bartram trail nearly at your doorstep.

I'm an educator and administrator of a small school in Atlanta. My family love sharing our special home in the Smoky Mountains to share memories in a special place. We love to travel, having recently visited Nicaragua (using AirBnB) and hope to visit Europe next year. Our family is multi-cultural and multi-national; we are rainbow-friendly and respectful of all creeds and faiths. I believe in the goodness of others, and I'm rarely disappointed.
