大急流城(Grand Rapids) · 整套出租单元 · 1室1床2.0卫 · 可住2人 · Hideaway House, discounted 30+ day stay
Rustic but charming caretakers cottage behind the big mansion, sits about 250 feet off the street at the back of the property. It will seem like your hidden getaway cottage, yet close to all the amenities of downtown. Bike ride or walk to downtown. Private space. Situated at the back of the property. Check it out on g- earth to get a sense of it in proximity to downtown. Adjacent to neighbors garden, on the closest side, and our own parking area, which serves our family and the units in the big mansion. On the other side of our property is a "house museum" called the Voigt house with more gardens. Use G - earth to locate that and that will give you a good overview of the general location where we are.
Cozy home in a beautiful, historic neighborhood. There is much to do within a quick walk of the house... the location can't be beat! The hosts and a variety of renters live in the main house directly in front of the AirBNB rental. This makes it very convenient to contact the hosts with any issues. They are very friendly and quick to respond. The back yard and parking area, which is shared among the renters, does often become very crowded and difficult to navigate, however the AirBNB has a designated parking spot. There is some general clutter within the AirBNB, in the shared yard space, and especially in the shared laundry room. My partner, dog, and I worked remotely from this location for a few months and never had issues with internet. We really enjoyed our time in Grand Rapids and loved all the amenities/restaurants/activities within the surrounding neighborhood.
My partner and I and our dog stayed here for 6 weeks during June and July 2022 and worked remotely. Here's the pros of this place: -GREAT location! About a 15 minute walk to downtown and to the Cherry street/ Wealthy street shops. The Commons (a restaurant/ bar) is about a block away and is fantastic! -Steve is a very responsive host and lives onsite in the main house -Great storage and ample hangers -Great wifi (separate network for just the cottage) made working remotely easy -Multiple workspaces - Two desks to work from and two small bistro tables -TV with roku -Sharp knives (which is so rare in rentals!) -Two full baths - one on each floor - really came in handy -Super comfy bed -Both a keurig and a drip coffee maker -Onsite parking and lots of easy street parking for guests Here are the cons: -No dishwasher or in sink disposal -Old house so it comes with all the joys of an old house: no central air conditioning so it got quite hot, limited grounded outlets (we left some converters for the next guests), water damage, windows that don't all stay open, peeling paint, and small water tank -Kitchen isn't stocked for cooking - expect there to only be salt, pepper, a few tea bags, and a bag of coffee -Really limited kitchen counter space -Laundry is located in main house (about 30 yards away) and the dryer is coin operated (we never ended up using it since we had family nearby) -The cottage's backyard space is private but not pleasant or fully fenced: expect gravel/broken slate ground that is not dog paw friendly, downed fences blocking the walkway, overgrown weeds, etc. -The place overall has a lot of active projects going on so there was a lot of stuff piled around the parking area and outside of the main house
Great location and private space especially for a long term stay. Steve is extremely responsive. Lovely neighborhood to enjoy and walk in.
Quaint little home with everything you could possibly need. It’s a short walking distance from some great restaurants, bars and cute little areas! Steve was a great host. He was there for check in to show us around the house and told us that if we ever needed anything we could just send a text to him. When we did text him, he was quick to respond and help us out.
The home is located close to downtown on the east side of the downtown area in the historic district and very close to coffee shops restaurants hospitals and all that downtown has to offer. There is some commercial activity in the area including the studios of WoodTV which are directly across the street from us. We can’t reveal our address prior to a reservation being made however that information will help you use G -earth to see where we’re located in proximity to the TV studio. Next door to our home is a perfectly preserved house museum built in 1895 called the Voigt house with beautiful gardens maintained by the local garden club. On the opposite side of our property are more gardens which a wonderful neighbor maintains. We offer the house on a monthly or longer basis using the Airbnb site as our promotional platform. We don't offer short-term stays.
