One of the most unique locations I’ve ever stayed, couldn’t be more appropriate to the area. Particularly special if you have an interest in local history. The place has everything you need. It was a bit colder than typical during my stay and I struggled a bit to program the bedroom heat but Samantha worked with me to figure it out. Very charming place and experience with trains, river, woodstove, birds, cows, friendly farmers on tractors etc

Had a very peaceful few days at the railway cottage .. It was everything i wanted for my stay in Ireland .. would highly recommend

Lovely, quirky, little cottage in a beautiful area. Sam was very responsive to messages and helpful. Her directions made it easy to find, everything was very comfortable (LOVED the sun room!) and the train didn’t bother us at all - only 5 small trains pass a day and all at a reasonable hour. Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful cottage on a remote lane down by a river and rail tracks. We never got disturbed by trains and thought the location very romantic. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. There is no wifi, but 4G and a great selection of DVDs. Bed is for snuggling up! The nearest town Killaloe was very nice with lots of good eating places, lots of walking and obviously water sports (Lough Derg). A place well worth visiting!

The cottage & its surroundings were beautiful & very peaceful. We had everything we needed for our stay & would've loved to stay longer. If you're looking for a peaceful little cottage out in the countryside it's hard to get better, and the history of the railway only adds to it. On that point, the train that passes by is infrequent & small, so it isn't disruptive at all. if anything it adds to the place as it's fun to watch it go by
