PLEASE read all information about the yurt before booking. Enchanted Forest offers stunning vistas along meandering forest trails for hiking and mountain biking. It is a 0.7-mile hike (or bike) to the Latir Yurt (no driving). This is (upscale) CAMPING, not a hotel room. A wood stove provides heat, there is no electricity, running water, or room/maid service. We provide fitted sheets, pillows and pillowcases. Bring a sleeping bag or comforter for cold temperatures. The Latir Yurt is 20' in diameter and has beds for up to 8: 2 twin and 3 double futon sofa beds. The beds are comfortable but you will need to bring your own bedding, specifically, a sleeping bag or bags. The yurt is semi-primitive but comfortable and features: • Wood stove for heat with firewood • Dining table and chairs • Kitchen area with some cooking supplies and propane cook stove • Propane lantern • Beds (you supply bedding. 30º sleeping bags highly recommended) • Port-A-Potty

The yurt in the Enchanted Forest XC Ski area was perfect! It was in a beautiful secluded area with a great view of the sunset. Ellen was very responsive to our messages. We reserved just the day before we got there. The people at the Rental Center were helpful and friendly and gave us a map and directions to hike in to the yurt. It was a beautiful quiet 0.7 mile walk in with our packs. The yurt was well appointed with a camping stove for cooking, wood burning stove, water, spices, pans and dishes, soap, TP, sheets, outdoor lounge chairs, a campfire area and wood. There was a portapotty nearby. We hiked around the trails which were well marked. We only stayed one night but thought about asking to stay longer but had plans to backpack elsewhere. I would highly recommend and will hopefully return someday, maybe in the winter! Thanks!

My dogs and I had a wonderful time! The Latir yurt was a short hike, with a gentle incline. The trail was well marked and Ellen was available in case I got lost. The yurt was in such great condition and even had a hammock and a zero gravity chair for comfortable outdoor seating. Not to mention I've never seen a cleaner portapotty! The views were beautiful and the trail system was inviting. I plan to return and bring lots of friends.

Although you will see horse and occasional vehicle traffic, our US Forest Service permit requires yurt customers to walk or bike to their rental yurt.
Guests park at the base area for Enchanted Forest and hike (or mountain bike) 0.7 mile to the Long John. It is an easy-to-difficult hike (depending on your fitness level) — at around 9,800 feet above sea level.
We provide a 6-cubic-foot Steel Utility Cart (bed dimensions measure 45" x 23") for your gear. This is ideal for one- to two-night stays, light packers, singular campers, couples, or families of up to 3-4 in which all members are able to carry their own pack.
Guests can also pay $50 for gear delivery (one way out and one way back). This is ideal for guests with three-or-more-night stays, heavy packers, groups of four or more, or families with members who cannot carry their own pack. Even with gear delivery, however, guests must still pack no more than what will fit in the back of a Polaris Ranger (approx. 36 x 54 x 11 inches).
Last-minute gear deliveries will not be accepted. Guests are expected to arrive no later than 4 p.m. to receive the gear shuttle. The morning of guest departure, we will arrive to pick up gear between 10 - 11 p.m. Guests' gear will be dropped off near their vehicles.
These are strict policies in order to keep our equipment in good working condition. We reserve the right to refuse & refund this service at any time.
