Set in the tranquil village of Bere Alston, "The Cranny" is a cosy little cottage, which has been beautifully renovated to an exceptional interior standard. The village has every amenity you'll need: a post office; a small Coop (open 7 days week, from 7.00am to 10.00pm), a local pub, a chemist, a chinese takeaway & a children's play area/recreational ground.
The village is very calm and relaxing, with a great community feel. There are lovely country walks on your doorstep, just 5 minutes away by car are the fabulous Denham Woods - for an exceptionally beautiful walk through forest & woodlands.
There is so much to do with Tamar Trails - woodland walks and an adventure centre - 10 minutes away.
Tavistock is just 20 minutes away - which is a spectacular market town with lots of independent shops, restaurants, cafes & an excellent Pannier Market, a large park & river with a swimming pool complex & small events venue - The Wharf. You are also close to discover Dartmoor - again 15 minutes away.
Calstock is a little Cornish village is on 15 minutes away - with riverside walks - is also worth a visit.
Plymouth is just 25 minutes away - with a huge selection of shops (Drake Circus Shopping Mall), plus an Imax Cinema, Boat Cruises, The National Marine Aquarium & The Theatre Royal which holds an range of theatrical performances.

The village location of Bere Alston is perfect for discovering the local area. There is communal parking immediately outside the property, but there is off street parking available, plus a large car park just a 2 minute walk away. You can generally park outside the cottage on most days - but if you can't, alternatives are a minute away
There is a train station just a 3 minute drive away, with free all day parking. You can take a spectacular train journey across the estuary into Plymouth taking only 30 minutes. This is such a scenic journey on a very slow train - it is like stepping back in time - and we highly recommend this lovely journey.
