Located in the woods, watch the river flow by from any window, the porch or walk the trails. The main room has a leather loveseat, rocking chair and propane fireplace. The loft has a queen and double mattress. BBQ with side burner and all kitchen appliances are there. There is an outhouse. No shower. Wifi available on the property. Kayaks are accessed at The Nest which is the 2nd cabin (that you can't see). Firewood available. Incredible night skies. Space and privacy. A soul restoring getaway. There's a couch in the screened in porch that overlooks the river. Large fire pit is in front of porch. There's cleared space around the cabin but then there are trails branching off. There is a hammock with bug netting where you can take a pillow and read until you fall asleep into an afternoon nap. There is 3,000 feet of the Irondale River and 38 acres with winding trails, two oxbows, a beaver pond, open spaces, hidden beaches, all surrounded by a mature forest. Kayaks are accessed at the other cabin on the property.

Our third time at Krista’s air b and b stayed in both cabins always a great time great communication with Krista leaves place clean and lots of necessities for us to use just awesome definitely recommend it.
This Air BnB was the cutest! It is definitely off grid which is perfect if you're looking for peace and quiet. I only stayed for a night, but was very comfortable. There are nice trails and it's amazing being right beside the river. Krista is responsive and helpful as well.
2nd stay at this location. If you're looking for an escape to nature this is what you need. Easy access to the river, trails, biodiversity, and no light pollution to see the stars. Halliburton, and Minden Hills are a short drive away to explore some beautiful towns. Will definitely stay again.

What a beautiful getaway. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the crooked cabin and we would love to come back again. Although we couldn’t canoe or really have a fire due to rain and moist conditions, we got to visit local towns and even Algonquin! Thank you Krista ! :)

Crooked Cabin is close to Wilberforce, which is considered the geocaching capital of Canada. Between Irondale and Kinmount is Furnace Falls, where you can swim and slide down the falls.
Within walking distance of the property, there is a country store with a gas station, LCBO, ice and a post office. There's also a burger/fry truck and an ice cream shop.
Kinmount is usually a very active summer town and a hub in the winter for the snowmobile trails in the area.

My profile picture is from my trip to New Zealand and I am rappelling 300 feet into a cave. One of my favourite trips. I've traveled some part of every continent except Antarctica, but I love Ontario cottage country and have had the good luck to settle in Irondale after living in TO for 30 years while working in the TV/film industry. I believe that being in nature is one of the best ways to heal the soul and recharge the body, which is why I've opened up my property and cabins. I really enjoy meeting new people from around the world and hearing their stories. I learn so much and there's nothing better than seeing the smiles on people's faces when they arrive here and watch the stress leave their body. For me, it's my way of giving back. To share the natural beauty I'm surrounded in.
