Central to spectacular southern Tuscany, close to Monte Amiata and historic Santa Fiora, our spacious house is good for a large family or a group of friends, with the added advantage of an independent space for 2 - 4 people. Peaceful, close to nature and great for walking, bike-riding or just relaxing, it has beautiful uninterrupted views of surrounding mountains. Explore the Tuscan coast, the Etruscan villages of the Maremma as well as famous wine regions of Montalcino and Montepulciano. This listing combines "La Chiesa" and "Il Nido" which are available separately through Airbnb. The two areas are on separate floors, above (La Chiesa) is a spacious three bedroom house situated on the site of a small local church of days gone by and adjacent to l'Oliviera di Sopra, a former olive mill, which is now our house. There are three beautiful bedrooms, which all open onto terraces, two bathrooms and a large lounge/dining /kitchen area (fully equipped) which also opens to a large terrace with lots of shade and stunning views to the surrounding mountains. Below is Il Nido, a separate one-bedroom apartment which includes and ensuite bathroom and a lounge/dining/kitchen area with all amenities. There is a comfortable sofa bed (double). Each has laundry facilities and its own locked entrance. The combined property is ideal for a large group of friends or a large family, who prefer the flexibility of a separate self-contained space. Guests have access to all the surrounding property, about 3 hectares, which includes 150 olive trees, a large swimming pool and is flanked by the Fiora River and the Fosso Serpentaio, an historic creek inhabited centuries ago by a rogue crocodile, whose head can still be seen in the local Convento della Santissima Trinità. The pool area is equipped with sun lounges and plenty of umbrellas, as well as a large shaded area with fridge, stove and games. It is fully fenced in for security. There are quiet spaces throughout the property, including a picnic table and a shaded seat next to the creek.

Super schöne Unterkunft, sehr sehr liebe Gastgeber und traumhafte Lage mitten in der Natur. Wir verbrachten eine Woche in der Unterkunft von Cynthia und Alan. Am Anreisetag wurden wir liebevoller Weise von Elisa und Riad mit selbst gemachten Getränken und Snacks empfangen. So nette und zuvorkommende Hosts haben wir noch nie erlebt! Die Unterkunft ist traumhaft schön, sauber und bietet alles, was das Herz begehrt. Auch der Poolbereich ist super sauber und sehr gepflegt. Hier fehlt es wirklich an nichts! Nicht oft kommt es vor, dass die Unterkunft in Wirklichkeit tatsächlich noch besser aussieht als auf den Bildern. Große Empfehlung! Vielen Dank Cynthia, Alan, Elisa und Riad, dass wir die Tage bei euch verbringen durften :)

We spent one week at Santa Fiora together with my family. We came on Sunday and were welcomed by Elisa and Riad who took care of the house during Alan’s and Cyntha’s absence. Cold drinks and fresh fruits were fantastic after long journey! We couldn’t imagine better welcome:) Pictures does not reflect beauty of this place. Fantastic house and huge pool with all the extras were really great. We are greatful that we meet fantastic people who shared with us their special place! Great place to stay! Relatively close to many tourist attractions in Tuscany. Beautiful garden, clean swimming pool, well equipped kitchen and very nice welcome gifts. It is possible to taste and buy home-made olive oil - we liked it very much. The most important: the best hosts ever! During our stay Alan's daughter - Lisa and her partner were hosting us. Their charm, smile and readiness to help were absolutely exceptional. Thanks a lot!
We (group of 5 + a 2 year old) had a lovely time staying with Alan & Cynthia! The location is beautiful; the garden, swimming pool and appartments offer everything you need and the views are spectaculair. You will need a car to explore the area and to visit stores and restaurants, but there are plenty nearby. Alan and Cynthia were great hosts; always in the background but available for a chat and tips. Thanks again!!

If you like walking, there are plenty of marked trails or you can find your
own way along the small roads. There is almost no traffic on our road, so
it's very safe. If you want to look up a few really nice places to visit while you're here, try Pitigliano, Montalcino, Bagno Vignoni, Sorano, Pienza and Montepulciano, which are all within easy reach, and Siena, Perugia and Orbetello a little further away.
There are many options for visiting the Tuscan seaside and we'll be happy to guide you to the best spot for your needs.
Horse-riding is also available nearby.
For guests without their own car, we can arrange airport transfers and tours with a local company. Alternatively, we recommend hiring a car, either self drive or with a driver (we can suggest links).
