My fiancé and I had an amazing time staying here. Jayne and John were super helpful with everything we needed and provided us with loads of information on what we could do in the area. A really scenic, beautiful and peaceful place to stay and perfect for the two of us. Couldn’t recommend more!
Jayne and John were the absolute perfect hosts, and the Barn was wonderful, it was clean but felt homely, we only wish we could have stayed longer. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts and they were helpful from the moment we booked! The barn was in such a beautiful location which you could explore with the personalised OS Map. Alternatively it had everything you need for a cozy night in! Would absolutely love to stay here again and couldn't recommend enough!!
We had a wonderful holiday, the cottage is peaceful, comfortable, clean and well equipped. Jayne and John couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming, ensuring we had all the information needed to enjoy our week to the full. Lovely views and sunsets from the terrace, lots of walks and places to visit locally. Plenty of shops, takeaways and a good pub in Winscombe, everyone is so friendly. We enjoyed walking the Strawberry Line and visits to Wells and Cheddar Gorge. Sad to leave but hope to return again soon.
lovely cute place to stay. surrounded by amazing views and sunsets are clear from the garden surroundings. Everything was clean and pristine. Nice and quiet tucked out of the way. Very modern and all the amenities required plus more than you'd expect. couldn't fault Jayne & John's place
The ANOB means you have excellent walks or cycles straight from the door. It's not far to join the West Mendip Way to Crooks peak and beyond for amazing views. Alternatively, walk / cycle the Strawberry line in the village to either pretty Axbridge or Yatton via Thatchers Cider Barn in Sandford .
We have 2 tea shops - The Pantry is our favourite for cakes, and a remarkable wine shop run by Kelly our local vintner and her husband. Indian curry, Kebabs and pizza can be delivered to the door or there's Chinese takeaway and of course fish and chips in the village.
Wringtons Walled garden resturant and The wheatshief in Stone Alerton for the foodies.. A serious walk or taxi drive....
Bristol with its famous suspension bridge, Clifton shops or harbourside atmosphere. 25 mins by car. Wells Cathedral and Saturday openair market 25 mins by car. Bath an attractive drive under an hour or go by train from Worle.
We can be approached by car, the bus or coach...take a little longer but equally possible with a few minutes walk up our road. Cheddar 10 mins, Wells 25 mins , Clifton suspension Bridge and the harbourside in Bristol 27 mins (Bristol to Plymouth flyer stops on the A38 between us and Winscombe)
The seaside at Weston 20 mins drive (35 mins local bus). Car drivers... Saunton sands in North Devon for surfing 1.5 hours along with the Welsh coast over the New Severn Bridge which is 40 minutes away. London can be reached by Yatton station in about 2.5 hours. The walk to our village of Winscombe is steep on the return but pleasant if you use the well marked footpaths.
