The room was a good value for the price. Well worn, but sound - what we expected. Solid location - very walkable, just a couple of blocks from the beach and the strip, reasonably quick access to the H1 and pretty good parking accommodation. 3 of the elevators were always operational, with the 4th being decommissioned at night . . . Beds were very comfortable, plenty of linens and towels, adequate cooking equipment and the appliances were all fully operational. Hot water is right now - that's nice! centrally located a/c unit was very sufficient as we left it on almost constantly and always returned to a refreshingly cool room :) never fully figured out all the remotes to operate the tv, but there were plenty of streaming options already available for late night viewing . . . finally, the sauna was hot, the pool was clean and accessible for the most part (not overcrowded during our visit) but the hot tubs situation left something to be desired - one not as hot and the other had no jets..

The sliding door that divides the rooms and the sliding glass door were broken upon arrival. The included umbrella, boogie boards, and snorkeling goggles were all also broken on arrival. Other than these things I had a good experience with RedAwning and would gladly re-visit if the main issue of the doors is fixed.

This is one of many condos available at the Waikiki Banyan. Do your research on other sites before booking-- it is no-frills as a resort, but has ample amenities that are useful for visiting families with small children. We booked primarily for the kitchenette and affordable partitioned bedroom so we could unwind while the kids were sleeping/napping. Parking when you arrive is a little confusing. Read the instructions, park at the arrivals loop at Ohua, run up to get the parking pass, then make the left on Kuhio and left into the garage. Ask questions of the hotel desk-- they're not there for you, but they're generally more helpful than the parking security. The "security key" on check-in gives access to the elevators from the garage. Otherwise, it's a long walk down the stairs to get into the building. The kitchenette was adequate-- missing a fry pan, but otherwise had glasses, cups, etc. The management company provides a small amount of consumables like dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and hotel bar soap. The microwave display was broken, so I had to guess if the buttons were doing what I wanted. Plenty of towels and a change of sheets. I have no idea how they would handle a towel change halfway through the visit-- we did our own laundry on day 5 of an 8 night stay. Beach toys on the lanai, and leftover sun screen under the entertainment center. No guarantees on the latter two, but useful for our us and our kids. The outside corridors are very old and run-down-- this is not your Instagrammable vacation resort-- try the Alohilani on the next block at twice the rate for that. You can hear your neighbors across the way, and people moving chairs in the unit above. The rooms are clean enough once you understand that sand gets everywhere, and you realize how much sand you track in the first time you walk back from the beach. If you're not willing to do your own vacuuming, this probably isn't the spot for you. I wasn't sold on the on-site playground equipment and pool, but for our first trip with a toddler and a 1 year-old baby, they were big hits. The key amenities: - proximity to the Waikiki beaches and expensive tourist eating spots. - Included parking. (accommodates the Dodge Grand Caravans, Jeeps that every rental fleet on the island has hundreds of) - kitchenette. - relative price. If any two of the above aren't important, you have better options. If all four are important, this is one of the best options in Oahu.

Perfect place for a family with children and perfect location for exploring Waikiki
