It was our first trip to Chania, and our stay at Avli House was nothing short of exceptional for our needs, making for a very comfortable and successful trip. The apartment was super clean, modernized, and full of character, and it was in perfect walking distance to the Old Town of Chania. The hosts, Sophia and Nikos, welcomed us warmly and were extremely hospitable throughout our entire visit. They were great at communicating and were always available to assist us if we needed help or suggestions (and they offered great recommendations to enhance our time!) Thanks to them, it was a phenomenal trip all around, and I will happily recommend Avli House to the next traveler!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit bei Sophia. Sie und ihr Mann sind großartige Gastgeber. Es gab einen Snack zum Empfang, ein paar Kleinigkeiten im Kühlschrank, und zwischendurch wurde uns Kuchen mitgebracht. Die Wohnung übertraf unsere Erwartungen. Sie war sehr sauber, gepflegt, und es gab alles dort, was man braucht. Sogar ein Sonnenschirm wurde uns für den Strand vorbeigebracht und eine Sonnenliege.

Sophia and Nikos were excellent hosts and the house was fantastic. They’d really thought of everything one might need and each time I reached for something it was there. Very comfortable beds and linens, big bathroom, gorgeous private courtyard. We arrived in the evening and they’d laid a beautiful spread for us and showed us around. Gave us lots of local suggestions for Chania and day trips by car. It’s a perfect place for 4 people. The area is up and coming so unfortunately there was a lot of loud construction around all the neighboring streets and at the nearby beach as well, so just something to keep in mind, but overall didn’t bother us too much. Really a fantastic stay and would highly recommend.

From start to finish absolutely fabulous. Hosts are really friendly and respond to any questions very quickly. The accommodation is exactly as listed, spotlessly clean and extremely well appointed. Private courtyard is brilliant for meals/drinks anytime of the day. Plenty of aircon which would be a must in the high season. Short walk 100m to a great beach and promenade lined with good restaurants. Facing the sea to the right takes you into the old town and harbour which again has numerous places to eat and shops etc. Bit further is the newer part with bigger shops. Bus station easily accessible by foot and has a brilliant fairly priced bus system to many parts of the surrounding area. Facing the sea to the left lovely walk to more great beaches. You really can't go wrong with this apartment or the area. Would highly recommend.

Excellent property once inside, 2 very large steps from the road are a problem for elderly/ disabled, grab handles would help.Once inside the property is great, very tasteful & clean. Hosts were great.
