House and location were as advertised. Very clean and spacious. The kids really enjoyed the large yard and paddling around on the kayaks. Hosts were responsive and friendly. We had a lovely stay in late November and would love to come back at some point in the summer to really enjoy the water and fantastic location.

Great location and beautiful property. Had tons of stuff for our group to do. House was well equipped for our stay and everything was easy to find in the kitchen. Loved that there was enough space that we could all eat measly together and everyone could be around while the meals were prepared. The screened in porch was my personal favorite area. The only downside was taking the trash to an offsite area. Would definitely like to return again.

Five Pines is a beautiful one of a kind property in a nice cove and area of Lake Gaston. Positives - this home is an incredible home on a private point property - truly spectacular. Great dock, very short walk to the water, great amenities inside and outside of the home. Fishing was outstanding, water sports were awesome right in front of the dock, and the convenience to gas and the Shady Shack really made for a great trip. Negatives: the first day the mooring lines riped off the dock due to being improperly anchored into decking. Their neighbor came by to help fix, but we did the work. Then the sewage backed up into the master bedroom and we lost water and bathrooms for 24hrs. The owner was not responsive and we were left dealing with this with our neighbor mostly. This did get fixed the next day, but we were told when we finally heard from the owner to "Just Leave". At 9:00pm. We did get $500 back, but it caused a nightmare of a 4th sleeping with sewage in the master.

The home was perfect - clean and inviting with large rooms and a Huge kitchen. Eaton Ferry and the Main Lake areas are about 20 minutes away. Beautiful lawn with boat house, sun deck, hammock and fire pit for s’mores. Rosemont Vineyard is 1.5 miles with pretty tasty wine and the on site 9-hole golf course was a fun outing for us each morning. If you’re renting a boat, check out Stonehouse Timber Lodge - they allow tubes to be pulled and allow you to bring from NC to VA. Several of the rental places don’t allow you to pull tubes or bring across State lines. Stonehouse has been a friendly, reliable source for our family the last 3 years.
