The house is in a very quiet area, part of two-story wooden cottage complex. The hostess is a writer and a painter. The house is full of paintings and books, which you are welcome to read and if you are full of inspiration, the hostess is happy to offer painting afternoons. The 20 sq.m room for rent is on the first floor, the west side of the house. It has a private balcony, from where you can see the forest by the see and listen to the waves breaking. The bath plus toilet is located on the same floor as the room and the ground floor has another toilet. The kitchen is shared with the host and is connected to the living room. The ground floor has two porches - on the front and back (connected to the living room and with a grill for bbq). There is a small parking space and wifi. The seaside is located on the west, with some meadows on the east, the city centre on the north and Palanga airport on the south, which is only 10 min drive away. To walk from the house to the seaside takes only 5-7 min. When you reach the beach, just few meters on the left is a dedicated beach for women and a bit further down - a beach for nudists. The main, mixed beach is on the right side, towards the city pier. On the way to the beach there is a small cafe, where you can grab a coffee or have a lunch.

Nuostabi vieta norintiems pailsėti gražioje aplinkoje, vos keliolika minučiu iki jūros. Zitos namai labai jaukūs, itin gražiai įrengti, švarūs. Namuose viskuo pasirūpinta. Zita - itin svetinga ir draugiška. Prireikus grįžti į Šventaja - drasiai rinkčiausi vėl apsistoti pas Zita.
Nuostabi vieta apsistoti - jūra vos už kelių žingsnių. Namuose itin jauku. Tikras malonumas pagyventi Šventosios pakraštyje, toliau nuo šurmulio.

Sventoji is an historically important place, having grown from a small fishing town into a port, which in 1929, after Klaipeda was annexed, temporarily was the main port of Lithuania. A war ship Antanas Smetoma moored there. Currently Sventoji Port is not active and belongs to Palanga municipality.
Sventoji is part of Palanga resort and is currently rapidly being developed as a modern resort in its own right. Right next to my house there is a modern apartment complex Elija which houses a restaurant and a shop. Sventoji is also the name of the longest river in Lithuania which runs through the city. You can cross it via a "monkey bridge" to see an old Lowland observatory/calendar, which marks old Baltic gods and tokens. Not far from there, there is a sculpture park with the highlight of the Fisherman's Daughters sculpture, showing three young girls looking longingly into the see.
Right at the city centre there is a church with original murals.
If you are flying, the best airport then is Palanga, as it is the closest.
To reach Sventoji from Vilnius or Kaunas via public transport, you can take a train to Klaipeda and catch a bus via Palanga. There are also direct buses from Vilnius via Palanga. If you are driving, you can use your GPS to navigate :)
