斯旺西 · 整套度假屋 · 2室3床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Oxwich holiday chalet, sleeps 4, Gower
Perfect modern and stylish base to explore Gower, South Wales. We renovated Cariad y Môr - (Welsh for Love the Sea) in 2022 in a modern design, being mindful of our ownyoung and growing family. The chalet is only a 7 min walk to Oxwich Beach and amazing woodland walks are on the doorstep. We can sleep 4, in one double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The chalet has a south-facing patio, ideal for al fresco dining There is allocated parking outside for one car and guest parking onsite Check IN / OUT days are MONDAY and FRIDAY - you are more than welcome to book longer than our min 4 nights, by request, as long as your check-in or out days are a Monday or a Friday. We lovingly renovated our chalet in 2021 for the 2022 season, with a new kitchen, shower room, flooring furniture, and everything we felt we would need when staying with our family! Here’s a little bit about what you’ll find ... Entrance You’ll enter the chalet by the large patio doors to the front of the chalet, as you can see from our photos. This takes you directly into the open-plan living area. When inside, you’ll see the kitchen to the left and the 2 bedrooms ahead. Living area While we expect your stay to be mainly outdoors, we have made our living space as homely as possible. We have a comfy (extensive research undertaken!) 2 seater sofa, 2 armchairs, and a secure wall-mounted flat-screen TV with Apple TV for your own Netflix access, coupled with a sound-bar for enhanced audio. When we were thinking of our younger guests, we got the classic Scandinavian-style dining table because it is extendable for more space, and easy to wipe clean! You can move the armchairs around to all watch TV, or watch the kids play on the green, directly out the front of the chalet. Extras: we have an IKEA Highchair stored in the bedroom cupboard. Kitchen steps to reach the kitchen window (if you are short, like me!) which can also double as a child step for the toilet. Kitchen We have plenty of storage for your own food and supply the basics of cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, mugs and glasses, salt pepper, and olive oil. We have a microwave, kettle, 4 slice toaster, and cafeteria We have an electric oven and halogen hob, with an extractor fan –( please use this if using the hob to reduce excess moisture in the building!) Our integrated fridge has a salad drawer, freezer compartment, and plenty of shelf space for your fresh food and door space for milk and drinks. You can also use the shelves in the kitchen for bread, cereals, etc Bedroom 1 Our main bedroom has been designed to be functional and fun at the same time. The open wardrobe looks great and saves space, the fluffy light shades add texture and the side lamps for reading with Edison bulbs are functional and fun at the same time. Both bedside tables are in front of double sockets with USB points, ideal for charging phones, with a further double socket by the full-length mirror making it ideal for hairdryers and straighteners. Bed 2 The Twin room has slightly lower beds, making it easier for families with little ones, but still full-sized for the comfort of adults. A bedside table in the middle of the beds is in front of another double love socket with USB points The cupboard in the bedroom has hanging space and a large draw unit, which is also ideal to put small suitcases on! There is also space under the beds to store your travel bags. Bathroom Our modern shower room has an electric shower, a large heated towel rail, a toilet and sink unit, and a large heated mirror. (For those needing to use the bathroom at night, the mirror also illuminates, so is great to have on as you go to bed to act as a night light!) Hall In the area between the bedrooms and the bathroom, we have added 6 coat ‘pegs’, and made sure they were ‘Dry Robe’ size friendly! Outside Directly outside we have our little patio area that looks out onto the green; a lovely (slightly sloped) lawn, which is perfect for children and dogs to play. *Please note that the patio area is not enclosed* We are south facing, so the lounge and patio get the sun all day, and in the evenings, the sun sets to the left of our outside dining area (when facing the chalet). We have a 4 seater dining table with chairs and a parasol to give some midday shade. Our recycling system is also outside, with bins for plastic, tin, paper, and card (all of which is in our user manual) Parking There is one allocated parking space to the side of the chalet and other free parking is available on a first-served basis by the site office. Cleaning Our property is committed to Airbnb's Enhanced Cleaning Protocols through our professional cleaners. We offer hotel standard linen and towels which are replaced after each stay. The property is set up to offer remote access with easy self-check-in meaning that no direct contact with anyone is needed.
We had a fab stay at Hannah’s house. We were staying for a friends wedding at the local hotel so the location was perfect just like the house. Thank you!
We had a lovely stay. All beautiful cleaned and comfortable the hand soap in the bathroom smells amazing.
Really enjoyed our stay and you can see they love the place as its immaculate. We went with a dog and one year old and for the weekend was perfectly equipped. It's a stylish place, my only comment would be I feel there are certain bits where practical should have come out on top. For example, by the door there's a nice picture where personally I'd have rather somewhere to put coat (there are hooks outside bathroom) So all in all beautiful and styled to our taste. However recent addition of a baby meant couple of things for our taste would change to make more practical.
Oxwich Bay is a haven for water lovers, with 4km of sandy beaches, sand dunes, salt marshes, and woodland in a single location. Oxwich Bay is one of the very few areas of interest for geologists due to the proximity of the sea, to the woodlands and dunes making it a very rare location.
Take a walk along the nature reserve to Three Cliffs Bay, or the coastal path over to Oxwich point, past Oxwich Castle and take in the history of St Iltyds Church, (c.1600)., You can visit Horton and Port Eynon bays, just around the corner of Oxwich point.
Enjoy a local boat ride around Gower dolphin watching, taking in Worms Head glory from no other advantage point, or Three Cliffs ‘Blow Hole’ on a high tide
You can also take some Stand Up Paddleboarding lessons (SUP), windsurf, open water swim, or just enjoy being on the beach with your children and dogs on one of the cleanest and pet/family-friendly beaches on Gower.
Oxwich Bay is also famous for its Michelin star fine dining Restaurant – The Beach House. Not to be missed if you can book in advance enough! Situated right on the beach, it is an experience not to be missed! (Children under 7 aren’t allowed, however we can recommend a local babysitter)
If you fancy a cold glass of wine or a pint of local beer with a beach view, then look no further that the Oxwich Bay hotel. The hotel and restaurant has a great child and pet friendly beer garden for hot summer days, and is only a 10 minute walk from the chalet.
Oxwich beach has public toilets and two beach shops, serving hot and cold food, Ice creams, various drinks, and beach essentials.
There is also the local beach shop - The Dunes, which has a wider selection of beach essentials, hot and cold food, toilets, and general groceries and essentials. In peak times there is also a burger van on site
