What a wonderful few days on Willow! From the start, we knew it was going to be great. Diane was so welcoming, with lots of information for us first time boaters! The boat was spotless, with lots of treats left for us. A real home from home. So cosy, with the log burner, and lovely hot shower. Can’t fault our stay. The canal is so peaceful, you can hear the birds sing. Lovely walk along the towpath. Bluebell woods nearby, and lots of local pubs for lunch or evening meals. Diane is the perfect host, always responding quickly and reassuringly!!! Would love to return, and can highly recommend.
What a lovely place to stay. If you are looking for a peaceful hassel-free time this is the place for you. The boat was wonderful with everything we needed, the check-in was fun and informative and Diane kept in touch the whole time to make sure we were ok. We really wished we did not have to leave.
A wonderful weekend break aboard Willow. Lovely to meet Diane on arrival; the log fire was lit & loads of lovely, thoughtful touches - daffodils, cake, prosecco & fresh eggs for an early birthday celebration. The boat is lovely… it felt very homely & was great to enjoy the nature & wildlife (ducks, birds, swans, the local cat!… and some canoeists!) We went out to Maldon for the afternoon but spent most of the time in or near the boat, walking the canal paths. We both slept well & wish we could stay longer! Hopefully we will be back again in the future as it is a hidden gem of a place to stay. Thanks Nicola & Anne X

My husband ( Tim ) and I have lived in Woodham Walter for 18 years. We stumbled across this wonderful location when we were first looking for our own narrowboat - which we subsequently bought and is still moored at Hoe Mill Lock. Her name is Isabella - much smaller than Willow, but another stunning boat. We spend a lot of spare time Canal boating, Walking and Cycling in the Village - we love using the cycle paths alongside the canal, regular cycling or walking into Maldon. You’ll also find us frequenting the local pubs - so lucky to have such a great choice in such a small village. We look forward to welcoming you onboard “Willow” and will be on hand should you need help or recommendations.
