Overall, we enjoyed our time together on Bird Lake. We gathered 8 or 9 members of our extended family together for a weeklong vacation. There was plenty of room to eat and gather together or have a more private space when preferred. The two kitchens/refrigerators were particularly helpful. We also enjoyed movie nights in the downstairs living room. The porch was a favorite place to relax outside. We loved watching the wildlife and had a good view of the sunset over the lake. A couple of us swam near the dock. I'm glad I brought water shoes since the bottom is rocky. While we were in the area, we enjoyed walking/hiking on nearby roads and trails. Mary was responsive to our questions during the stay. She also gave us several good local recommendations for breakfast, pizza, and Friday night fish fry. We had a great week and would definitely consider returning in the future.

The house was big enough for our whole family to be comfortable and it was so peaceful and the lake was really quiet. I would recommend staying here

Mary is undoubtedly the most accommodating host I've encountered, and I wish I could have met her to express my gratitude. Thanks, Mary! Our group, eight adventurous retired Harley riders, eagerly explored the stunning landscapes of Tomahawk, Eagle River, Minocqua, and Upper Michigan. Mary's place was the perfect home base for our journey, exuding a quaint charm with clean, tasteful decorations, and a strong sense of family and Northern Wisconsin spirit. After our 200-300 mile motorcycle rides each day, the cabin provided spaciousness and comfort to unwind. We cherished our time on the porch, basking in the warm evening sun, sharing stories, laughter, and beverages. The ample dining area easily accommodated our entire group for family meals, and we couldn't resist witnessing mesmerizing sunsets by the lake. Truly, the experience was breathtaking—the blend of Northern Wisconsin's scenery and the welcoming ambiance of the cabin created unforgettable memories. Mary's place is hidden gem!

This was our first experience with an Airbnb. We enjoyed a full week at this beautiful home with our entire family, including Grandchildren! The home was beautiful, brand new flooring was gorgeous, fully-stock kitchen was a bonus. So many bedrooms, bathrooms, our family was incredibly comfortable. This location is wonderful for quiet days and evening campfires on the lake or visiting nearby beaches, parks, shopping, golfing. Mary and Neal were wonderful hosts, super responsive! A wonderful family vacation and cherished memories! Thank you!

My extended family and I had a wonderful time at our stay on Bird Lake! We gathered together to celebrate my parent's 40th anniversary and the size of the house and the several living spaces made our individual families feel very comfortable. The small kids were able to stay in one wing of the house and the adults and grandparents in another. Bird Lake itself was quite quiet and relaxing and it was easy to put a pontoon boat in in the nearby boat ramp. We enjoyed swimming/ paddling across the lake, seeing many loons, and lots of fishing off the dock! For a more lively lake scene, it was short drive over to Minocqua Lake (we recommend looking into Surfsconsin for a day of adventure). Mary was very easy to work with-- we would certainly consider returning for another summer Northwoods stay!
