Impossible not to love Hillary’s place. She is one of this world’s Good People: manages to make you feel at home and also perfectly free to get on with your own thing. The garden is just a joy, the cats are perfect company, too. Hillary is also an amazing host: always there when needed, taking the extra step to look after you, quick to respond to any questions and spot tiny details: she has energy of a whole village and patience to go with it. The place is really charming, pretty and peaceful: a green haven in a lively, friendly neighbourhood. The whole surrounding area is basically dope: park with hikes, plenty of restaurants and great food trucks, grocery stores and the rest. It’s changing rapidly and inevitably, but hasn’t lost its character….yet. Hillary and her home are part of what makes it special. Perfect roost in this crazy city. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Hillary's place is a little slice of heaven. My selfish side wants to leave a bad review so her place is available more often, but, alas, I have a conscience, and the place and the host deserve accolades. From the lush, large garden backyard, to the absolutely cozy and private accomodations, we cannot recommend this place enough. The room is small but ample, the bathroom cozy but plenty, and your private patio is such a nice respite. Want to open the patio screens to let in the light and gaze at the beautiful garden? Do it. Want to close a privacy screen that still lets in some light - the option is there. Want to close full blackout curtains for full privacy or to block the morning light? You've got the option. And if you do the latter, and want to sleep in, your room will be pitch black, even at 11 AM. And the bed was very comfortable - as someone who has become more finicky about bedding as I've aged, my wife and I comfortably slept like rocks. The wifi works perfectly for remote work. Her place is 2 mins from a major train line with VERY simple options to get nearly anywhere in Downtown LA (DTLA), the trendy Highland Park with great bars, restaurants, and coffee shops, and on into South Pasadena and Pasadena (including Old Town). I advise skipping the LA traffic when you can. But if you want to bring a car, you've got your own parking. And Hillary is a fantastic host. Lightning-quick responses and willing to help. But if all you want is privacy, she'll give you the opening tour and you can be on your own the entire time. Choose your own adventure. If you're looking for all the trendy fixin's, a full kitchen, and the interiors that every AirBnB today seems to have (and I like those too!),, maybe not the spot for you. The place is cozy and has character, with a boho chic coziness that is cute without trying too hard. If you're looking for a peaceful abode where you can relax and while away a sunny LA afternoon, or simply have a home base from which to explore all LA has to offer, it's perfect. I'm so grateful we found this place, that it was available. We made great memories on our trip to LA.

This spot is really worth it! The room, although small is the greatest price you will get in the area and the cutest, it’s a cool hippie pad with a beautiful backyard. This place has a great ambiance and Hillary is the best ever, could not ask for a better host. The area is not the most exciting ever, but there is a fair amount of cool stuff to do around and it’s a bit more peaceful than the rest of LA. Highly recommend
