Terrific rental property. We were a large group of 4 families and there was more then enough space for each of us. The backyard and views of the golf course and ocean are absolutely stunning and by far the biggest highlight of the property. The pictures, as nice as they are, don’t do it justice. One big bonus was to watch the sunset from the golf course after the last group went by. The location was great, very close to both the beach and the hotel. Communication with Erik was good and he was quick to respond to our questions. We would recommend this house and if we return with a large group would be happy to rent again.

EYES WIDE OPEN. That’s our advice for anyone considering renting this villa. I’ll start with the good. The villa is in a great location right by teeth of the dog and a two minute golf cart ride from minitas beach club. Additionally the homes layout is setup well for a group or large family. The bedrooms are good sized and strategically located for privacy. The butler bon bon and chef Manuel are nice hard working people. Now onto the bad part of the villa which unfortunately overshadowed what could have been an amazing trip. In advance of trip- we wanted to arrange ground transportation from La Romana airport which is only 10 minutes away. The house manager offered to provide the service for $250.00 each way. Having been at casa de campo many times I was suspect of the rate so I searched online and within 2 minutes found prestige transportation which only charged $119.00 for the same trip. The same was true with golf carts where the house manager wanted to charge $120 per day for 4 passenger vehicle. I found ecoplaneta online for $65 per day which delivered the carts right to the house. When booking these type of services a markup by the house manager is expected but what is a fair markup? From our perspective it should be 20% or less and certainly not double the actual cost. Next issue was the lack of planning by house manager. In advance of our trip we outlined our dietary restrictions and need to have food in the house for our groups 4 children. Upon arrival at the villa the refrigerator was empty and there was not even bottles of water! Apparently there was an issue with the chef which we understand can happen but the house manager did not pivot in advance of our arrival to make alternative arrangements to ensure our food needs would be covered. We are easy going so we jumped into our golf cart and drove 10 minutes to the marina which has a decent supermarket to get food for the kids. At the time the house manager advised that he found an alternative chef who would cook us dinner which was great. However when we arrived back at the villa the chef omitted to bring food to cook. So back to the supermarket we went at 8pm for a second time to get food for the chef to cook. Next let’s talk about the house itself. Upon arrival we found the villa to be filthy. This included a substantial amount of human hair from past guests in the shower drains and even the bed. After complaining they did send additional maids the next day and my wife pushed them to clean the house properly. During our visit there was a lack of towels, no shampoo or conditioner. Hot water in the showers was virtually non existent. The air conditioners were problematic and leaking water. There was no cable or satellite tv to watch the Super Bowl. The internet did not work consistently. The pool was not heated and hot tub was only luke warm. The outdoor fans did not work. The bath tubs were stained and not suitable for childrens bath time. Many doors including the front gate to property did not lock. Additionally the house is for sale and we were advised during our visit that they needed to show the house. We obliged in good faith but having unknown visitors enter the property during Covid times without masks is not professional to stay the least. Also it’s important to understand that the house manager is not local. He was a nice individual who tried to rectify the issues but being based in Spain and not locally meant he could not come to the property to meet and address the concerns face to face. There was no apology or offer to give a credit. Heck even $50 per night for the inconveniences would have been a sign of good faith. In summary the house has potential but it needs about $200,000.00 in repairs and an improved focus on ensuring the customer experience is special. For high net worth individuals that can afford to spend $16,000.00 USD for a weeks villa rental you will not be happy at this location!

This is easily one of the most breathtaking AirBnb properties in Dominican Republic and likely the Caribbean, with direct access/views of an internationally ranked golf course and the blue/green waters of the Caribbean sea!! It is incredibly safe because Casa de Campo has very strong security policies requiring every person who enters/exits the resort checks in (including providing a copy of guests' passport/IDs before arrival). This level of security allows for properties like this to have outdoor/indoor spaces rarely seen in the Dominican Republic. The house looks just like the pictures (perhaps even better because some of the more dramatic features, like the entryway's water fountains, cannot be adequately captured in photographs). We had 14 people, 7couples stay in the 7, en-suite, rooms and it felt like our own little private resort where everyone had a private space, but the common areas were cozy enough to feel like a family home. The house has so many comfortable sitting areas inside and outside that we made it a group challenge to try and have a meal in as many of them as possible during our week there. We didn't want to leave when our 5 nights were over. The resort (Casa de Campo) is world class, and we only wish that many of its features could be enjoyed by Dominicans throughout the nation. We hope to make this an annual trip now. Highly recommend it. (PS we followed the instructions at check-in and did not have to pay the $25 per person daily resort fee that others mentioned. We simply said we were guests of the owner, which we were, and no one bothered us with the fee. Also, we highly recommend the chef service as we ate really, really well while we were there). If you're working remote, consider renting a remote wifi service as internet is reliable but a little slow. Otherwise, the property is simply fantastic!!
