海沃兹希思(Haywards Heath) · 整套民居 · 5室7床5.0卫 · 可住12人 · Mission House
Sleeping up to 10 adults maximum (2 children and a maximum of 2 under 2 infants) and including a fabulous family room with pair of built in bunk beds, the Mission House is one of our largest properties, with 5 bedrooms and 5 en-suite baths. There are 3 bedrooms downstairs one with super king accessible master bed and wet room, 2 king bedrooms and a bedroom with a four poster bed and freestanding cast iron bath upstairs. The Mission House is wheel-chair friendly and the most accessible. The Mission House is our stylishly converted Victorian church meeting room and school house. We’ve always wanted to convert a church (who hasn’t?) and with its giant cathedral windows and opulent velvet curtains, we’ve kept the drama and added some serious glamour. Gently split level, but with a large, beautiful accessible master bed, alongside a designated accessible wet room on the ground floor, the Mission House is wheel-chair friendly and the most accessible property on the estate. There are an additional 3 bedrooms downstairs and at the top of the reclaimed spiral staircase we’ve created a sumptuous upstairs bedroom with a four-poster bed and freestanding cast iron bath. The large sitting room, with its wood burning stove, and deep chesterfield sofas, opens onto the eat-in kitchen, with vintage church pews for seating and a WC. We love this cool, sexy house, with its eclectic period details, reclaimed touches and chic décor, and can’t imagine a better place to open a bottle and bring in the new year, or celebrate a special occasion with family and friends, laughing and playing parlour games until the wee hours. We love Lydhurst because of the trees, because of the views, because of the varied architecture of the buildings; because of the bluebells in the woods and the sheep in the fields. We love the history. The landscape; the way it makes us feel. Lydhurst is a family owned country estate in West Sussex. Nestling in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and renowned for its far-reaching views across the South Downs, Lydhurst is a picturesque landscape punctuated with intimate areas of woodland, formal gardens, lakes and parkland. You'll be amazed how close you can be to London and still feel so blessedly far from it all. Designed as a haven, Lydhurst was for generations a place for a lucky few to enjoy. We want to expand this legacy and share this enjoyment with others. Our vision for Lydhurst is founded in easy enjoyment, conservation, enhancement, and understanding; with our foremost objective being to care for this extraordinary landscape. We think being here is a welcome retreat from time pressures, digital domination, closed-in horizons. We hope that when you are with us you can relax, reconnect with the natural environment; step back, recalibrate and reboot. But don’t worry, we have have good wifi too! Whether you like your nature close up, or mostly through a window next to a cosy fire, it’s good to re-connect. On the estate you will see grazing cattle and working farm machinery, along with a team of dedicated gardeners and our estate manager. Many of the team live on site. We are all committed to maintaining and promoting the English countryside and are passionate about land stewardship and conservation. We founded Lydhurst Cottages with the hope that we could share these properties and offer guests the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful part of the world. Coming back from the city with our two young children has reinforced to us just how important a bit of wilderness is. We want our guests to relax, to unwind, to breathe. To take walks (maybe even get a little lost) and to discover what we already know – that this is a special place and that we are lucky to be part of its story. If you would like to learn more about Lydhurst and what we do, please get in touch.
We had a lovely 3 night stay in their beautiful barn. Nat met us when we got there and was lovely, so helpful. It was stunning. We went on lovely walks. Had a takeaway from a local Thai restaurant and Sunday lunch at The Talbot, both amazing meals. Overall would definitely recommend this place to stay Cath x
beautiful, stylish space. Amazing grounds to explore and lovely pub at the end of the drive. We really appreciated the bottle of Bolney fizz and the wood for the log burner.
Five of us stayed in this beautiful property, which was ideal for for anyone in a wheelchair. The well appointed kitchen opens to an impressive vaulted living area, with a log burner for the cooler months, as well as heavy velvet drapes for the beautiful windows. Off the lounge is a large double bedroom w/ fully accessible shower room. Down one step are 3 more bedrooms, each with a gorgeous attached bath- two have tub/shower combos and one walk-in shower. Up the solid (not at all scary) spiral staircase is a large double room with a luxurious tub, and private toilet. This house is located on a beautiful private estate, and the decor is truly a feast for the eyes. The only noise to wake you is the chirping of birds, the beds are comfortable, there’s plenty of hot water, and everything is high quality. The hosts could not have been more lovely, they made us feel very welcome, and our only wish is that we could have stayed longer. We will absolutely return to visit this special place.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our four nights on the estate. We have young kids (4, 2, and 2) and the grounds were perfect for walking and exploring, and the cottage was spacious with room for them to play. We had five adults and three chicken and there was room to spare. The grounds are absolutely stunning and walking the trails and paths of the estate is an activity all on its own. We didn’t take advantage of the games room as our kids were too young. Natalie was very responsive and it was nice to have hosts who actually run the properties themselves (no third party companies to deal with). A couple of the rooms are a bit small and without proper closets/wardrobes but it didn’t bother us. The Half Moon Pub across the road is a must visit as well. Cannot recommend these cottages highly enough if you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing stay on the English countryside. We would all return in an instant (and maybe we will some day).
Warninglid is in the heart of West Sussex in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are in wine country; very close to Bolney Estate, Coolhurst, Wiston and Ridge View vineyards. Brighton and the South Downs are 25 minutes away by car to the South. Gatwick is 20 mins to the North and Lewes and Arundel are each about 40 mins away (East and West respectively).
Our nearest train stations are either Haywards Heath or Horsham (each about 6 miles away). Both stations have good train lines into and out of London (Victoria, London Bridge, Blackfriars). It is easy to get a taxi from either Haywards Heath or Horsham station to Warninglid. Gatwick Airport train station (South Terminal) also has the Gatwick Express (30 mins to and from Victoria). Each cottage has ample, private, off-street parking.
