Jeff and Oscar were great hosts with an incredible place for us to stay at. The space for kids to run around and play is special and unique. The house had an exquisite furniture selection, with attention to detail. The rooms and bathrooms were elegant with great linen and vintage elements although installed in a modern way. Everything we needed was there with a large table outside and inside for lunches and dinners. For us, a really special trip for sure, thank you Jeff and Oscar!

It’s a very nice house with lots of details taken care by the owner. If I have to criticize one thing will be the main bed room can be disturbed by the light of passing traffic. A curtain should solve the issue

Venue was not as advertised. Living area open to a hallway with hosts living on the other side (we could hear children crying and fighting). Lack of privacy. Other guests knocked on our window since host was unavailable + no curtains in the living dining/room - or in bedrooms : woken up by the headlights of cars driving on the road our "cottage" was directly on. Living area felt unfinished and really lacked a sense of coziness, which was specifically what was promoted on all marketing platforms. Check-in was delayed and we were told last minute to pick up firewood to be able to enjoy a fire. No matches or even tools for the fireplace. Upon arrival the venue lacked esthetics & grounds seemed unwelcoming w/traffic cones and construction materials. Chairs still set on dining table upon arrival. Spider webs over dining table. Checked out the next day (600 kms trip back) even though we had booked 3 nights. Host did not care to work out a partial refund and ignored pleas from AirBnB to do so

We had the most amazing stay with Jeff and his family. The inclusion of our children in the Halloween treasure hunt and the invitation for drinks and nibbles in their home was above and beyond. We loved how all the children interacted and that they shared their time and toys. The bike track that ran all the way to Chinon was great although we didn’t quite make it all the way there!! And the play park in the opposite direction was a welcome break for all the boys to run off steam. The gate house itself was simply lovely and beautifully presented. The kitchen was fully stocked with crockery and even the absence of a microwave wasn’t a hindrance. I didn’t need the washing machine but i found it and would have definitely needed it had the weather been worse and the walks muddier. Jeff, Oscar and their boys made us feels so welcome that our boys have already asked when can we go back. The surrounding areas were easy to find and explore. Lunch at Les Annes Trente in Chinon was amazing

We had a very nice stay at Jeff and Oscars place. Both were very welcoming, casual, and made us feel at home. As others have noted the beds were very comfortable: The location is great - 20 min from many things to see and do in the Loire valley. In addition to the gate house there are other apartments on the property for rent through Airbnb however it felt very private and other than seeing other guests cars you don’t know they are there.
