I would very happily stay here again. It's a great location within walking distance of Middleton-in-Teesdale's facilities, yet very quiet and with wonderful rural views from the kitchen and living room. It's very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The only thing I would flag is it's heated by electric heaters which come on in the morning and afternoon, so by evening you may want an extra layer of clothing in cold weather. The shower is fantastic, with unlimited hot water at a great pressure. For walkers: there are lots of circular walks directly from the front door (if you fancy leaving the car behind), but also reasonable bus services (95/96) from Barnard Castle to Middleton, and on Wednesdays only a number 73 (Hodgson's) bus which goes further up the valley, terminating at Langdon Beck. Both open up lots more options for linear walks.

Thanks Margaret for another lovely stay at your place. Remodeled kitchen and bathroom did not disappoint, we‘ll be back next year! Middleton itself is a beautiful place to stay, very quiet, amazing chip shop and with lots of footpaths around town. Would definitely recommend staying with Margaret!

I stayed one night here on my own for work and didnt know what to do with all the space! It was spotless too. The double bedroom has blinds and curtains and the windows were well insulated. Not that there was much in the way of noise, just swifts darting past the windows which was lovely when they were open. The shower was good (didnt try the bath) and the kitchen had all the kit you need. Some of the kitchen sockets has usb ports, which was handy too.
