My husband & I enjoyed our time at Nikki's cabin by the river. We had our first overnight getaway without the kids in probably 3 or 4 years. This place was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed coffee outside alongside the river both mornings. There's a bald eagle nest across the river so we had plenty of wildlife to watch. We used this opportunity as a chance to reconnect & unwind. I left feeling more relaxed than I had in a very long time. The lodge was wonderful and cozy. We went at the end of April & it was a little chillier than anticipated. We found a space heater and set the heat up & we had no complaints. The train is right there but honestly we didn't hear it. Maybe it's being exhausted parents lol! We slept great & did not find the train bothersome. Nikki had a fire set up in the firepit upon our arrival. This was wonderful as we were both looking forward to a fire & a beer. We would definitely return to Nikki's lodge the next time we need a getaway!

We loved staying here over the weekend! The location was perfect for the hikes we did, and being close to Wisconsin was a plus. Definitely recommend The Barn for date night! We enjoyed the fire ring and the place was perfect.

Such a cute little place, close to everything and anything you need!! A nice added touch with the trains!! Kind of cool to see them go bye that close! This is such a wonderful hidden gem on the Mississippi River!! Couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our anniversary weekend!!😀 We will definitely be back!

Nikki was an excellent host with a cute, cozy, relaxing cabin. We definitely enjoyed every moment of our stay. Train will sometimes block you in but no more than 30 minutes and after the first train at night you get use to it so wasn’t bad, we thought. Definitely recommend staying here. Was the perfect get away we needed.

We loved our time on the river. What a beautiful peaceful place for some downtime and the proximity to places to explore and hike was a real plus. The Cottage matched the photos posted and navigating the frequent trains was fine. It's the tradeoff for the great location.
